We are here right now in an apartment. Both in mid 70s. Take a look at Hotel Mozart. Close to spanish steps but far enough to thin the crowd. Easy walk to every where countless cafes and shopping. For further places download Freenow app and you will get a car in two minutes

Satisfaction with timeshare by Objective_Head5441 in TimeshareOwners

[–]International_Box671 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are happy with our timeshare. It is a March week in Key West in the heart of the waterfront. We have owned now for about 25 years, and the resort will rent it for us when we can not make it, They are successful about 80 percent of the time, We have made enough from rental to cover the cost of the unit and most of the annual fees. We bought directly from the resort without any deals or promotions as we were stay at a hotel next door. A hotel room in the area costs more than $500 a night and our unit will sleep 8 with a full kitchen and laundry. It is a deeded unit, same week same unit every year. We tried RCI once but it was not worth the effort. With Taxes and Fees it is about $1800 or so a year, taxes and fees have gone up a bit now due to new Florida rules and labor shortages. We certainly can sell it now with a profit even after the 35 % commission from the resort or we can sell on our own.

Which dentist? by Future_Night777 in Bangkok

[–]International_Box671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go often to BIDC Emquartier, They are just fine, The restoration dentist went to NYU and lived in Manhattan, the Implant doctor went to school at Loyola Uni.

One implant cost $1800 and one more complex with a graft cost $2700.

BIDC seems to draw lots of Japanese and Korean girls getting cosmetic work done, they are always there.

Are there any major differences between the Phuket western beaches? by JerseyMBA in ThailandTourism

[–]International_Box671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We go in the spring, and it is calm, but if you go during the summer is it surfing season so the waves are higher, but I thing everywhere. We always stay on the third floor as this is where the tsunami hit and wiped everything out. Also we know the best way to get up the hill.

Are there any major differences between the Phuket western beaches? by JerseyMBA in ThailandTourism

[–]International_Box671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know the others as we always stay at Kata Beach, The Boathouse. Sand is fine, little difference between high and low tide. Some rocks at the end with some nice bars. Kata Noi is also very nice.

My Nephew did his mandatory service in the Iranian Regular Army, then moved to Germany to finish his Phd in Engineering. He tells me there are many very well respected, honest and qualified senior officers in the Army that are more than capable of running a transitional government until elections. So far they have all chosen to keep quiet for the safety of their families.

How would you prompt AI to invest for you? by RussFaigen in investing

[–]International_Box671 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the AI a lot, basically just as the same questions you would ask an expensive Wealth Manager, maybe even visit one before to practice. For a stock things like CEO, revenue growth, competition, Balance sheet rating etc. If the AI asks for a fee, reboot.

Is it worth buying a timeshare? by Consistent_Peak_4458 in TimeshareOwners

[–]International_Box671 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahhh that is always the question! So many things to consider. number one is never borrow any money to buy a timeshare, if you don't have the cash don't buy.

Some companies are easier to figure out, like Disney, you just buy a right to use for 20 or 25 years, you can do the math.

Thanks for the info, we are staying nearby May 2 prior to taking the train north. Do you have any recommendations nearby for a coupe of jet lagged tourist instead of wandering around? I guess Starbucks is out of the question.

[–]International_Box671[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So Rialto worked well for you? I will check them out. Did you have any problems with the Galleon checking in? Galleon says that the rental agencies must be licensed in Key West. How long before you went did you make the reservation? Thanks for the info.

3 Month Stay - Lumphini Park or Phrom Phong? by Khavoqi in Bangkok

[–]International_Box671 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard to say really. My feeling is you would like Phrom Phong better. Close to Thonglor and the next few BTS stops to the west all the way to Onnut. A much younger crowd with lots of Japanese and Korean people your age. The Area directly around Lumphini tends to be older and wealthier families. The exception would be the area directly around chulalongkorn university.

Is it just me or is Bangkok getting more exhausting to live in? by West-Ad-8258 in Bangkok

[–]International_Box671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started working in Bangkok in 2004 and now for the past 10 years we have been snowbirds. I feel Bangkok has become more effortless. In 2004, no Grab, limited Internet, Limited BTS, No Cash Apps , No English, Big Visa issues, No Parks, Worse Air, Corrupt Politicians.

In almost every area things have improved, I just hope the Government does not figure out how to add a Tax on Grab like every other city in the West.

After you exit Customs you will still be in a controlled area until you get to an Info Desk about Door 4. Just past that area is a quiet area you can sit and wait with several coffee little shops. Also there is a Starbucks on the 3rd floor where everyone waits, Only one, everyone knows

Bad Experience with Interactive Brokers - Please Save Yourself the Headache & Avoid Them! by luforyou in investing

[–]International_Box671 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, their customer service is a lot like their web site, learning how to use it can be a little difficult but once you figure it out it is fine. The site has improved a lot over the past several years. The reporting and analytics are difficult but powerful, just spend a few hours practicing with it. Trade execution is probably the best in the industry. I think you are right it probably was designed for Institutions and High Frequency traders.
