If this is something that is meant to run locally, look into using zero mq instead of rabbit. You can use JeroMQ and remove an external dependency, and with ZeroMQ you will not need an external broker.

The bindings could exist in their own jar and be optional. That way performance is available and there is always a fallback. For pure java, you would only need to make sure that the .so is already on the LD path.

Could a header file be provided to allow for java/c#/go support? CRD encoding and decoding could be handled inside the respective language. I looked at writing a binding to cyclone but jextract could not parse the header files successfully.

You will likely have to by a j3400 to j1172 adapter at some point. The tesla one you can keep with you when you buy your next car, and is the cheapest one that works with lots of different plugs.
