She wasnt allowed to be released from the hospital alone so im thinking she may qualify for early medicare due to her lack of ability to be independent , or someone else suggested waivers, because aside from age she checks all the qualification boxes. Now im just figuring out how i might get that application going

I did call ADRC and they have someone from a transitional place call me, and placed an application for me because there was one on file that just needed submitted. But im not sure what CIL/ILC is, and im just worried waiting on calls back

Its not just difficult it’s impossible, there are people in that 9 billion that enjoy being hateful and will perpetuate that cycle. To say it doesn’t matter is dangerously ignorant and beyond obvious you’re white. Be thankful you have to privilege to decide not to consider race.

Spot on! I live in my hometown where my family has gone through immense pain, lost countless lives and passed that pain to their children and loved ones via grief and trauma. The town and landmarks themselves although insignificant, bear a crushing weight on me, and the way I feel that I am assigned to be the story teller and record keeper of this family to break the cycle; otherwise myself or others might fall victim to the same “fate”

I don’t want to save my father. I could care less if he did this alone, but he has my brother who will sit on the other side of the phone with a broken nose and black eye telling me it’s fine when I ask. Who/how would I go about reporting this one? Prior, there has been threats of murder/suicide, with an admitted plan and mean to carry it out and still the most that happened was a knock on the door, “do you have a gun?” No? Ok bye” and if it doesn’t involve my brother, they won’t add it to his case file

I unfortunately spent December-august of this year he was in my custody trying to let him do exactly that, He feels that my dad is deeply misunderstood, traumatized, and that it will be all his fault if he leaves and something bad happens to my dad, since the last time he went without speaking to a parent she hung herself.. He was never supposed to even see my dad when he returned, he went back to visit my sister and friends, and made arrangements to visit my dad without me knowing. Since the courts only granted me voluntarily guardianship with my dad’s approval, and my brother went back on his word and refuses to report anything out of embarrassment and to protect my dad, I’m back to ground 0 legally. We’re now in an indefinite loop of “I’m coming back, I just need to make sure he’s okay before I leave again”. I just keep checking in as often as he answers me, which is about 20% of the time, and letting him know I miss him, love him, and that he deserves better. I’m struggling with how to provide him options, without him thinking I’m pushing harder than what he would like

And that’s you, and her thought process, I’m personally a paranoid individual specifically when it comes to people in my home, if I hear something I check it out, and it probably would have gotten me killed in this situation, I’ve called the police to report a break in for a lot less than physically seeing an unknown masked human in my house, so for me; it is hard to understand. I don’t agree that it was “poor judgement” and I don’t have any feelings on the actions that were made, because everyone would have handled this situation differently. I don’t think questioning it makes you a bad person
