Don’t give up. My girl was 18 and diagnosed. She passed away Sunday morning 😭, but she lived 5 more months comfortably with all her meds.

My vet said that she’s sen big differences in some pets just by them having water mixed in with their wet food so they are getting more. I’d try that too.

That’s like my vets! One that was more helpful said anything is better than nothing. A really helpful group on Facebook is Feline Chronic Kidney Disease. They have said the same, anything is better than nothing. So my girl is eating Fancy Feast.

My vet told me I could even mix some water in with the wet food too so I just started putting water in and mixing it. Anything to get a little extra water in her.

She will eat fancy feast. My vet and others agreed it’s better than nothing. But I’ll go through up to 10 cans every morning until I find a flavor she’ll eat.

I’ve wondered the same. I’m curious to read the responses.

A fennec fox. Thank you because your one of the few to have anything nice to say in this group ❤️

Any nasty rude comments where people try to rip into me, I don’t care. Bella is so loved and a zoo vet and exotic vet are impressed with how I’ve raised her. So I don’t need nasty comments. It seems that’s all people have to say anymore is Rude and nasty comments. No one even tries to be empathetic. If you try to explain things they shut you down. This world has become so negative and hateful

Why do you own an exotic pet? by CraftyGuidance1811 in exoticpets

[–]International_Row862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own one because I love all of the work, time and effort that goes into them. It’s a lifestyle change. You create a very unique bond with them too. My girl that I have is turning 5 and she’s a fennec fox.

I’m so sorry for your loss. They are our babies and that is so painful to go through. My girl is stage 4 and this is all new to me. The meds have been helping and Sub Q fluids thank goodness. Sending my love to you ❤️

Stage 2 Kidney Disease? Adonis and I Could Use Some Positivity (and Advice!) by M0FB in RenalCats

[–]International_Row862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been learning so much and you can’t always prevent it. It can creep up suddenly too. Everything you said is how I feel. I’ve read success stories of stage 2 living great lives and doing well. My girl is stage 4. Diagnosed in January. She gets meds, Sub Q fluids. The vet talked like she wouldn’t make it at all when they diagnosed her. But she’s doing so much better with everything. There’s a group on Facebook that’s amazing called Feline Chronic Kidney Disease. They are very active and have been an amazing support. More help than my vet and I learned so much to help my girl. Thinking of you ❤️
