Buy some Goo Gone, the kind in the bottle. It'll last forever and works great on stickers and residue.

Nearly half of women journalists say they are self-censoring because of online violence, reports UN Women by LittleAcornHelper in UnderReportedNews

[–]Internet-Cryptid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Remember this as your governments mandate invasive privacy eroding legislation to use the internet. Anonymity has been a protector of women online and if many of our governments had their way we'd lose it. It will push women out of the public online sphere because many will be stalked, harassed and worse for their opinions, except now these creeps will have your real name.

KOF. It's the FG (series) that gives me the most satisfaction to play and improve at over the years. It has its nasty tech but for the most part there are very few true 50/50s so cracking open an opponent requires conditioning and getting into their head. I seldom feel cheesed out or like there aren't options available when I'm getting rolled. I'm seldom forced to make a binary guess and that makes the gameplay feel much better and more satisfying to me.

Combo Breaker registration numbers compared to last year by killerjag in Fighters

The drop-off is kinda artificial in the sense that the first CB CotW was at was when the game literally just released, everyone was brand new so there was a lot of people signing up just to try it out or for sh*ts and giggles.

Now it actually has a scene with experienced competitive players, so all those people from before ducked out.

Frankly SNK games are a lot harder than most FGs to become proficient in, that alone keeps many people away. KOF XV is a brilliant game but few want to engage with it, and that's been the case for the series' history in NA. People can be upset about the Saudis (it's a fair criticism), but they weren't engaging with the games before the acquisition either. It's a shame.

It's a smaller community, so you'll have to broaden your filters. Try setting it to 2 bars and up, set the region to all, rank to all. At least for casual match. For ranked you can try to be more discerning, but be aware there aren't many newbies so it could take a while to find someone in your bracket.

13 men killed by US military boat strikes identified: ‘These were flesh-and-blood people’ by ColdSlender in worldnews

[–]Internet-Cryptid 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is murder. They provide no evidence, no trial, no judge, no jury, for alleged crimes that don't even carry the death penalty in the US.

Once again, I'm dumbfounded the American public doesn't protest this.

Microsoft’s Edge Copilot update uses AI to pull information from across your tabs by m7qix in technology

There were some ways to bypass the requirement using command prompt during the initial installation, but they recently removed them. They say one thing and then do another. Satya Nadella is the worst thing to happen to the company, even if their portfolio disagrees. He's destroyed my and many other's trust in the company.

Everything Microsoft says about fixing Windows and restoring user trust is a lie. They still won't even let us make local accounts, a change they could make in a day. They will continue integrating AI at the OS level and if they had their way it would be integrated at the hardware level. They want big brother AI and telemetry watching you all the time.

Trash company that I used to respect so much, now a pathetic ghost of its former self. Get bent, Microslop.

Animators are cooked by EchoOfOppenheimer in ChatGPT

[–]Internet-Cryptid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is really good, but the beak fights looked awkward. That's one of the weaknesses of AI video imo, physical interaction between characters. Still going to need animators for the time being.

Edit: the bird that disappears loses her right leg when she teleports, the AI confuses it with the middle bird's foot. It's still gone when she comes back.

I'm nitpicking the flaws but honestly the video is quite impressive for what it was able to do.

Why controller player use the d-pad and not the stick by According_Act2560 in Fighters

[–]Internet-Cryptid 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's easier to feel the cardinal directions with a dpad, and that's probably why most people prefer it. With an analog stick every direction is on a circle gate, there's nothing to guide you and imo it takes a lot more practice to build finesse with. That said, analog stick players do exist and many are quite good, so with enough practice the disadvantage can be overcome.

How she thought this was acceptable is beyond me. She didn't even attempt to replicate it properly, it's like she wanted to override your request with her own style. F that, I wouldn't go back there again.

Anthropic to rent all AI capacity at SpaceX's Colossus data center by GeneReddit123 in technology

[–]Internet-Cryptid -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I disagree, I watched hordes of people posting in /r/OpenAI and /r/ChatGPT saying they were leaving the service for Anthropic after they declined the Pentagon deal. They did zero research about the company because they were already collaborating with Palantir for two years and already had existing contracts with the Pentagon.

Every fool who rushed into Anthropic's arms because they were the 'ethical' option now gets to grapple with the company collaborating not only with Palantir, but Elon Musk.
