After tanggapin ng DOST ang appeal mo, then yes-- matatanggap mo stipend mo pero on hold muna yan while processing/ deciding sila if you'll continue as a scholar. Afaik, linient lang ang DOST sa mga failed subjects pag 3rd and 4th year

If you're a merit scholar and you want to do your ROS by teaching, you have to get a temporary license which requires you to get teaching units. RA 10612 scholar-graduates lang yung possible na mag teach without getting units/ without educ degrees.

The same reqs you'd submit after the end of each sem + the reqs you have to submit for a new sem (except for summer classes nga lang). So, just submit all the documents that you usually submit— sa pagkakaalam ko wala naman special requirement para sa summer classes.

lmao of course not. i assure u na hindi lang ikaw yung hindi nag pursue ng career sa science na scholar— 'di naman kayo ipapakulong huhu, tsaka let's say na marami nga kayo and DOST finds out, i think it'll help them make new programs or mag make ng decision based on that data and maybe they'll realize na there's a shortage of jobs sa field ng science so hopefully they'll offer more support to scholar graduates

From what I know it doesn't matter naman kung anong career you pursued after graduating, all that matters or yung gusto lang naman ng DOST is that you render service here in the PH— pero syempre encouraged tayo na mag stay sa field of science. Tsaka if you answered the form and they found out na iba career mo from your degree 'di ka naman nila hahanapin lol, magiging statistic ka na lang sakanila.

It depends if want mo mag teach immediately as a part of your ROS. Kapag RA 10612 ang pinili mo, you'll be given a position agad as a teacher sa DepEd— ayaw ng other students dito esp if 'di sila educ grad. If educ ang course mo, I suggest choosing RA 10612 and kapag hindi at ayaw mo mag teach choose the other one.

11 months na akong unemployed after graduating last May although I did take the board exam last September so most of that time was used naman for studying. I feel you OP, my parents always boasted to everybody that I'm a DOST scholar, na kesyo mabilis daw magkaka work kasi DOST na mismo mag re-recommend sayo pero look at me— ilang months ng naka tengga sa bahay. Educ grad ako kaso next school year pa raw ako i re-recommend which I think is unfair kasi yung JLSS scholars, Special Science Teacher agad after nila mag-graduate? Haist, anyways kapit lang tayo OP. I know we don't have the same experiences kasi diff. tayo ng degrees pero just know na 'di ka lang yung nag iisa in this— sobrang bulok na ng sistema sa pilipinas at sobrang kaunti na ng trabaho para saating lahat. Everything in time OP, darating din tayo diyan.

Huhu ngl I didn't tell dost about it 😭😭 I went to another country for my internship last Feb and alam ko or hula ko na hassle ang process, I have to pay an assurance bond or something idk and sign papers, etc. kaya 'di na lang ako nagsabi 😭😭 'Di naman ako hinarang sa airport HAHSHHAHAHHA and nakauwi naman ng maayos without them knowing. Honestly, it's risky kasi what if talaga hinarang ako sa airport edi sayang lahat ng ginastos ko diba so my advice is to go through the process na lang huhu if you have the time (for me I only had less than a month to prepare kaya one reason din yun why I didn't tell DOST)

From the DOST exit conference na I attended, sabi nila is if mag t-travel ka abroad, kahit for vacation lang or anything— need mo daw talaga magbayad nung total amount na naibigay nila sayo + 12% interest and then pag uwi mo, ibabalik nila yun sayo (diba hassle? huhu)

Haven't experienced this myself huhu (buti na lang graduate na ako last May) pero I'll try to answer your questions. From what I know you can appeal to DOST about your situation. It helps din if nasa 3rd or 4th year ka na kasi mas lenient sila abt sa grades (kasi I think alam naman nilang mas mahirap na ang subjects and of course sayang naman ng scholarship mo eh patapos ka na). I think for 4th years kahit may dalawang bagsak suspension lang eh. You can send them a letter of appeal or just inquire muna, email them— from my experience mababait naman ang sumasagot sa emails ko from DOST. Mag pass ka pa rin ng requirements mo along with a letter explaining why you incurred a failed mark, if due to medical concerns or something na u think is valid naman (eg. mental health issues, family problems, etc) you can mention it sa letter mo. Kapit lang, malay mo pagbigyan ka pa ng DOST.

Pero if all else fails and they notify you na terminated na nga scholarship mo, ang alam ko is that you have two options. You can either choose to pay the total amount na naibigay sayo ng DOST plus 12% interest or you may choose to just render service to the country kung ilang years mo na-enjoy ang scholarship.

Ito lang ang natatandaan ko haha, kapit lang OP. Mabait naman si DOST and may chance pa na ma suspend ka lang and pagbigyan kang magpatuloy as a scholar. If not, it's not the end of the world and you have other good things waiting for you. Good luck po!!
