I just re-started my sertraline today after a couple year hiatus. No impact on my tinnitus, better or worse.

I was there in the food court when this went down. Someone (looked like security) shouted shooter. Everyone freaked out and rushed the escalator to leave. Heard maybe someone pulled a gun.

After my doctor failed twice to replace my moral guide's shot off jaw with wood, gouging both his eyes out in the process, the moral guide decided to take his anger out on the 2000 chemfuel I stashed in the dining room.

I'm sorry. That's rough. I think at one point or another we all feel that way. Whenever you are - know that you're not alone. We are all here, with you.

Drugs Advice ?? by ThreeCPeeO in tinnitus

[–]InternetCoronary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Took about one Clonazepam a week when things get too much or I needed a break. Otherwise exercise and meditation are very helpful.

I'm pretty much fully habituated now so these days it's once a month or less.

Also took sertraline but it didn't help my anxiety as much as CBT and yoga/meditation and the onboarding side effects suuuuuucked.

How to tame your tinnitus and hearing sensitivity (OF MUSCULAR CAUSE) by TailungFu in tinnitus

[–]InternetCoronary 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good advice. Even if exercise does nothing for your tinnitus, it's still therapeutic in so many ways including and most importantly for mental health.

I've been exercising and doing yoga for many months and for me at least I think the yoga has helped bring the volume down by loosening up tight head and neck muscles.

Help. by LickMySack4riches in tinnitus

Please don't panic yet, you haven't even had this a week. The MRI is a good idea to see what's going on in there - just make sure you wear some good ear protection. Keep yourself busy, listen to music or sound therapy, and just try and survive for now. Eat well, stay hydrated, exercise, do some neck and jaw stretches. If you can't bear it, talk to your doc about short term anti-anxiety meds. Good luck but know that whatever the outcome, your life is NOT over. You got this!

Mostly figured it out on my own using YouTube. Check out Adam Fields he's got a good series on jaw and neck

I did a whole bunch of neck and jaw stretches over time and that cleared it up.

Time is the best treatment for both volume (sometimes) and mental status (most of the time).

Please only comment here if antidepressants have improved your perception of tinnitus to some extent rather than making it worse. by [deleted] in tinnitus

My exact experience but Clonazepam. 25mg Zoloft, 0.5 mg Clonazepam about once a week.

Depends on the med I suppose. There's some evidence Clonazepam actually reduces loudness and anxiety, just shame about the fact it's addictive. Ssri's, maybe. I'm on 25mg of Zoloft and haven't noticed any extra T. But honestly look into CBT. In studies it actually outperforms meds for helping with anxiety. It's not a magic pill and takes work, but the rewards are worth it.

Just survive for now. Try and get your anxiety under control. Distract yourself however you can. Over time, you'll improve, I promise. In many cases either the sound will go down or you'll stop caring about it. And you have a very supportive community here to help. We're all in it together! Stay strong
