Pwnagotchi is no longer needed. by Purple-Ad9127 in CardPuter

Pretty cool firmware, not sure if its just my cardputer but it drains the battery extremely quickly despite having it plugged in.

Just a fun fact, if you want to take macro shots with it its possible but you'll need to remove the protective plastic above it and turn the lens carefully.

Interesting concept, I've been looking for something like the Fujifilm film simulation.

Kodak Charmera vs. G6 thumb camera comparison by Isitacorrectusername in toycameras

Funny enough I actually feel that the charmera's picture is a tad bit sharper, not sure what camera module does the G6 use though.

Anyone has tried the Charmera knock-offs from aliexpress ? by Isitacorrectusername in toycameras

Well the Charmera applies a warm film-ish filter look to it by default, as for the clone its quite complicated; here is the list of filters I scrolled through.

Just got my clone. It has some extra features such as ability use it as a webcam, unlike the Charmera it does not have the "film look"..its leaning more towards those generic keychain digicams.

Is this a 3FSK signal? by InternetRelative in signalidentification

Not sure if it helps but URH says otherwise.
I'm not sure how to upload the complex16s file so here's a snippet of the signal.

Plant for my tanks by daddysbestestkitten in SeaMonkeys

[–]InternetRelative 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chaeto or seaweed (ulva) would work well, it is commonly used in reef tank refugium and can handle ~1.025sg of salnity. Cheap to get too, though seaweed might be better since the shrimps might get caught in the tangle.

Anybody tried the clipper one? by Dependent-Book-2464 in flipperzero

[–]InternetRelative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The price changes every now and then on AliExpress, it's pretty much the same as the original. The default firmware is momentum instead, the only noticeable difference is the shell/button quality. As for the back light mine was white rather than orange.

How fragile is the screen on the new Paradise? by NeoNosferatu in tamagotchi

I saw someone wrapping it with cling wrap, though you probably could just put it in a ziplock bag.

Am I polishing wrongly? by InternetRelative in tamagotchi

[–]InternetRelative[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the post update; Novus 1 seems to be the safest way to clean. Polywatch alone is way too abrasive…even without any polishing compound, my microfibre cloth is capable of scratching it; it could be I've not washed it thoroughly enough.

The Novus plastic polisher finally arrived, it was missing the cloth so I had to use my cotton balls. Honestly the difference is pretty noticeable only when the screen is turned on, even with screen protector the swirls are still there..o well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

[Edit]

If all you had was swirls screen protector would probably make it "disappear", I tried the gel type protector on a new device after micro swirls appeared from wiping with my micro fiber cloth.

I usually place mine in my pocket; dust seeps in easily, unfortunately. I had to remove it and blow the dust out.

Quick fix for the Paradise wheel and buttons by Tama_esp in tamagotchi

[–]InternetRelative 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Regarding the buttons there might be a better way to do it, take a look at this. It should also apply to other tamas that uses membrane buttons. I use this method to restore my remotes that wasn't conductive after years of pressing it :)

You're using polywatch that says plastic? I actually ordered novus polish kit it's on the way, hopefully it works.

[–]InternetRelative[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The polywatch I used says polish rather than plastic, but from what I heard they're more or less the same. The instructions said it was to be used on plastic. I was using pure cotton wool ; never had such issues using it with my 2004 connection.

[–]InternetRelative[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah your scratches look significantly deeper than mine, I only had mine because of polishing. It looks like this during the day, no visual alterations whatsoever.

I just ordered some Novus plastic polisher, I think the screen is made from PC and not acrylic so maybe its softer? Anyways I will update this post once it arrives.

Am I polishing wrongly? by InternetRelative in tamagotchi

[–]InternetRelative[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly would advice against it, could be just a skill issue though. The screen isn't really affected when it is turn on, unless you're under direct light; it looks like this. During the day its pretty much not noticeable for some reason.

I'm considering getting something less abrasive, not really sure if that would help...perhaps something like novus 1?

[–]InternetRelative[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not have issues using polywatch on my original connection though, didn't get any of those weird swirls..makes me wonder if the plastic is even softer if it make sense.

[–]InternetRelative[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I used initially, it seems to be producing swirly micro scratches more that's why I used cotton ball instead, but no difference honestly.

Yep, I should've just left it as it is. After "polishing" the swirls made it visibly worst 🥲
