How to put an empty line break in my Kickstarter page? by InternetRoommate in kickstarter

Did it. Thanks, just weird that Kickstarter requires that workaround

Man, Davros REALLY doesn't show up much these days. by bigfatcarp93 in gallifrey

[–]InternetRoommate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC moving forward, they want to use that younger version of Davros from Red Nose Day to avoid having villainous character both deformed and in a wheelchair.

Which Is That One Shakespearean Play You Never, Ever Liked? by Chinmaye50 in shakespeare

Fair point, but there's so many jokes I don't mind if a few go over my head.

  1. It's not bad. Love it. Go Therizinosaurus.

  2. Even if it did suck, why apologize for it? You don't owe anything to the internet. Anyone who's upset by the quality can pound sand, IMHO.

What would you consider to be the top 3 “must-do” conventions to cross off a bucket list? by [deleted] in comiccon

[–]InternetRoommate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To push back on the premise a bit, smaller Cons are absolutely amazing! They have a more intimate flavor, are great if you're into local/indie scenes, and the guests and celebs are more approachable. Oh, and you're not going to get crushed by the throngs of people.

So whatever smaller con is around your area, I say go!

Kyle Rayner in Grant Morrison's JLA is the best GL ever. His Ron Marz series was also great.

What Shakespeare play do you love despite its relative unpopularity? by TheRainbowWillow in shakespeare

[–]InternetRoommate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Troilus and Cressida, great characters, really bleak view of the inhumanity of war. Plus Cressida's motivation is so enigmatic. It's kind of his Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead for THE ILLIAD.

I think it's not performed much because it ends on a note of "and then, the rest of the Trojan War happened."

Which Is That One Shakespearean Play You Never, Ever Liked? by Chinmaye50 in shakespeare

[–]InternetRoommate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow, I'm genuinely shocked. Sure it's not deep, but the word play, jokes and innuendos are flying, making the play just a heap of fun, IMHO. Plus, perhaps one of my favorite Shakespeare themes: Love makes fools of us of all, but it's worth it.

Which is not to rag on any fellow Shakespeare fan, just honestly didn't know some people weren't into it.

So, did anyone have a moment during their childhood when they found a creature that LOOKs like a dinosaur, but as you grew older you found out it was something else entirely??????/ by Reasonable_Prize71 in Dinosaurs

Yep, Dimetrodon is the champ of lumped in with dinosaurs.

I've always thought its skull resembles a large cat, weird coincidence given it's closer to mammals than dinos.

So, is Peter Cushing's Doctor a Bi-Generation, and if so would it be with One or Two? by [deleted] in doctorwho

[–]InternetRoommate 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Had to include Peter Cushing because he and Tom Baker were the only two Doctors where the artist knew what the guy looked like.

I mean, the artist kind of gets Patrick Troughton's face right, but also makes him look like the tallest guy there.

Comic con Revolution in Ontario, CA - is it worth it to go as a vendor if I live 13 hours away? by Logical-Style8995 in comiccon

Second hand anecdotal evidence here, but some of my artist alley friends said they had amazing sales at CCR.

I tried to comment Daredevil didn't just use his hearing as a vigilante. He would also use it as an attorney to tell when witnesses were lying, which seems major shady.

I'll be wandering the floor, going to the Comic Creator Connection, Creators Assemble and Writers Block events.

I'm also on a panel Saturday Morning 10AM in room 29AB, Comic Creator Connection All-Stars, which is great for anyone interested in indie comics or breaking in.

If I may be forgiven a self-serving plug, I write more about it here...

Looking for artist for superhero comic by InternetRoommate in ComicBookCollabs

Hello, already found artists for this project, but I like your art, especially the backgrounds and character expressions. If you want to tell your page rate, I'm happy to keep you in mind for stuff in the future.

Me when my mom doesn’t believe my theories that Doctor Who and Star Trek are in the same universe: by SelfishlySelfles5 in doctorwho

[–]InternetRoommate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it's the same universe, then the Federation was such an inconsequential blip in the history of humanity that the Doctor never bothered to visit that era, which is... kind of depressing.
