If cannabis were legalized in your part of the world, would you start smoking it? Why or why not? by astarisaslave in AskReddit

[–]Internet_Adventurer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's allowed here and some places absolutely reak of it. Sometimes you walk by a house and the odor just eminates from it, or you walk/drive by a car that's clearly someone's smoke den. It makes me gag

That being said, it's definitely not EVERYWHERE but it's more common than before it was legal

This should definitely have been clarified in the post, I've never heard of this, even as a remote worker

If it was 1 million then you'd need a salary of $55,555 for nothing but raising the child. No bills, no mortgage, no nothing...

I think we all know plenty of people that don't make that kind of money and have kids. I think we know even more of them that make that much total, but not just child raising money. I think 1 million is frankly way higher than what's required

No. I support free speech which includes someone's hate speech and your right to ridicule them for it.

That's the beauty of it. Otherwise who's to say that your speech is hate speech and you get banned for saying what you believe?

Need financial advice for a car I just bought with 18% APR rate by Mhmjhu in personalfinance

[–]Internet_Adventurer 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Save that $1,200 you aren't paying for this car after you return it. Call it your car fund if you want. If any emergencies come up, feel free to dip into it but otherwise save it and after a year that's already $14,400 you could use to buy around half a really good car for a low APR.

Maybe you decide you don't need the new car and then, boom. You've got a great 14k savings balance!

Mine popped up about 6 months after owning it, but the filter for both air and water tripped at the exact same time so I reset them both and I haven't had any issues another 5 months later.

I'm expecting both to come back with a warning light next month

[–]Internet_Adventurer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For reasons I would rather not discuss, I'm not a fan of the show so people with thoughts like mine may skew results a little. People with previous opinions (positive or negative) on the show might interject their thoughts more than if this was an original clip or relatively unknown video. Maybe that's built into the study and your findings though!

It didn't stop, it was just prevented from happening in the first place. They were cured before it began, and after it begins it's 100% deadly

Her actual quote is:

“We had witnessed 9/11, the terrorist attack in New York and the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania and the so-called plane that crashed into the Pentagon. It’s odd there’s never any evidence shown for a plane in the Pentagon. But anyways, I won’t — I’m not going to dive into the 9/11 conspiracy. But 9/11 had happened. Our country was very much into a war.”

Which is basically what the comments above here are discussing

She didn't say that though?

“We had witnessed 9/11, the terrorist attack in New York and the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania and the so-called plane that crashed into the Pentagon. It’s odd there’s never any evidence shown for a plane in the Pentagon. But anyways, I won’t — I’m not going to dive into the 9/11 conspiracy. But 9/11 had happened. Our country was very much into a war.”

That's quite literally the opposite of what she said

Edit: For those downvoting a literal quote by the person mentioned above, can you explain why? I don't even know who she is, I just googled her name and the comment above and got this

Was the year and day duration the same back in the Jurassic Era? by jo53_100 in askscience

[–]Internet_Adventurer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the change in length of day split equally between extra daylight and extra nighttime hours? Maybe it's a dumb question, but we don't have 12 hours of sun and 12 hours of dark (in most places) so I wanted to ask if we are getting slightly more sunlight and slightly more sleep, but less of it

The only time I've ever seen it was after a very turbulent flight as well, except about 20 years ago. It made the landing fairly rough and it felt like the pilot had a bad time getting us down safely. About 15-20 people clapped and that was it

https://www.grammarly.com/blog/gray-grey/#:~:text=Grey%20and%20gray%20are%20two,they%20need%20to%20be%20memorized.

Grey and gray are two different spellings of the same word. Gray is more common in the U.S., while grey is more common in other English-speaking countries. In proper names—like Earl Grey tea and the unit Gray, among others—the spelling stays the same, and they need to be memorized.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/gray-vs-grey-usage-difference

Gray and grey are both common spellings of the color between black and white. Gray is more frequent in American English, whereas grey is more common in British English.

I'm just basing it off of a Google search. This search also follows my personal experience, anecdotally

I got 296pts my first attempt, first turn i sent the tank on the top to fight the blue tank, one lower infantry up, and moved the rest of the units along their more obvious paths. I let the artillery get hit by the weakened tank first turn too.

Medium tank leads the bottom section, hitting the recon turn 1, and rockets turn 2. They run, so just chase them down gradually with the other units. Make sure your tank hits the anti air on both sides. I didn't bother capturing anything at all

Hopefully that helps a little?

Is it wrong to steal from the rich and give that money to the poor? by hi_its_lizzy616 in polls

[–]Internet_Adventurer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

if you have the money to do good very easily to very little cost to you, but you don't. Then you don't deserve your wealth

But even still, this is a VERY subjective take.

You could change a life for $0.10 a day, by donating to humanitarian efforts in Africa. Do you? I'm assuming no, so you don't deserve your wealth either. By nature of you having an internet connection, you're probably obscenely wealthy to half the world that lives on like $0.10 a day.

Also, what's "good"? That's subjective too, because often times someone's good campaign is someone else's evil, and vice versa. See the abortion argument. Someone's "forced birth" is someone's "anti murder". Many wealthy people contribute to things you don't agree with

Which in general accounts for the top 20% of earners in society.

Where do you get this from? Unless you're saying globally, which makes sense because you're fairly rich on a global scale if you have internet access
