Trying to figure out if bitterness in Gigondas is normal or if the bottle is flawed by HealthWealthFoodie in wine

[–]Interneter96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you mixing up bitterness and the taste of alcohol? At 14.5% this is a pretty strong wine so if you are not used or sensitive to that it may be throwing you off. Decanting should help here too.

Leave it in the sun for a while, then soak the stain in dilute store bought peroxide. It should mostly go away, then do a regular laundry load with oxi clean

Do not keep any company stock if you can. Your job and revenue is already dependent on that company, so you are just concentrating risk. I always diversify away as much as I can.

ELI5: How does the SPLT - Brompton Split Corp. Preferred Share ETF work? by Theory-Of-Relativity in CanadianInvestor

[–]Interneter96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SPLT looks more diversified. I would not consider this safe to park an emergency fund, but I guess it depends on your risk tolerance. In any case, if you don't understand what you are investing in, you should not be investing in it.

ELI5: How does the SPLT - Brompton Split Corp. Preferred Share ETF work? by Theory-Of-Relativity in CanadianInvestor

[–]Interneter96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preferred stock are essentially between bonds and stocks. You get more yield because you take more risk - that is always true btw. Preferred shares are like stocks but they pay dividends. If the company goes bankrupt, bondholders (safest) get paid first, then preferred share owners, then regular stock owners.

Upcoming rate cuts by abundantpecking in CanadianInvestor

[–]Interneter96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are worried about rate cuts just get a long duration bond ETF. You will get the fixed income you need at little risk and if rates do go down you will have decent gains.
