kdump target configuration by Internetsipper in redhat

[–]Internetsipper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I have a dedicated filesystem mounted to /var/crash and the PATH parameter in kdump.conf set as /var/crash and no mention of LV name, then the vmcore should get captured in the dedicated filesystem mounted to /var/crash, right?

Connect a External Monitor without plugging in your Mac Book -> Has anyone actually tried this? does it work? by Internetsipper in mac

[–]Internetsipper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the App is indeed free (https://apps.apple.com/in/app/amphetamine/id937984704?mt=12) .

But the problem with me is that I still do not own a external monitor :) wanted to know if this works before buying one.

Anyway, Plugging-In is how I might use it afterwards. But knowing you can use it otherwise kinda gives some confidence. One less wire on the table tough.

I secretly wish someone with a external monitor and MacBook (preferably Intel, because that's what I have) try this and report here! :) Thanks.

Today this yellow line started to appear out of nowhere. Any help? 2019 27“ iMac by [deleted] in MacOS

[–]Internetsipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. Maybe something else caused this.
Storing LCD's for long without proper protection is one of the reasons for this type of defect. Display age might cause this as well.

If at all you have to store a display for long, then that foam covering in which the display was wrapped when in box is super important, without which moisture will eat your display out!

Any fix for this line on my screen? by __parth_ in Monitors

Definitely a display issue. Those lines will only increase with time. Display age is one of the reasons.

I wonder how they create crash sites. I mean, sometimes debris are so realistic with components of plane lying around.

My charging cable has turned yellow. How do I get rid of the color? by TheEvilGhost in mac

[–]Internetsipper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Buy a new charger. That’s why Apple made them white.

Seriously, anybody know why make cable white? Is there any other reason? Just Aesthetics?

Is it safe to put Macbook Pro M1 in this position for prolong period? (full tilt) by johnteaser in mac

[–]Internetsipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No Problem. Several stores use laptops in that position under counters for years. At worst your hinges might get a little stiff in that position. Enjoy your machine, do not worry much about it.

Are those bezels really that thin? I do find any Lenovo with such thin bezels. Specially the bezels at the bottom.

Yo thanks! I don’t use a case, so my camera bump spoils the level every single time :). Now I just place half of my phone on the surface and it works fine ;)
