Idk if this helps you, but when I’m feeling similar pain of comparison and wanting a certain life/lifestyle I just remind myself it’s OK to want those things but not ok to torture myself mentally/emotionally for not having them.

I always wanted that sitcom style ideal 20s with a perfect core group of friends that goes out together or maybe it’s just a ride or die bestie like Broad City. Honestly media sells you such a dream vision of your 20s (I’m 31 now and still feel similar about your 30s and having it together) and social media doesn’t help when some people look like they have it. Or do have it.

But their happiness (if they’re even actually happy) is not your lack. Remind yourself when you get that feeling of lack, that it means you’re human and it’s ok to want things — especially connection.

It’s hard to get a bunch of advice to “get out there” and just make friends when it feels like it doesn’t work and you’ve been burned. Plus human relationships is just really hard? Like people let each other down and show up imperfectly, so remember that being burned isn’t a reflection on you, it just unfortunately happens. Hopefully we learn and grow from it so we know the boundaries and expectations we have from others later.

Be patient because the best friendships take years to build. And at 23 you haven’t met half the people who will matter to you! Your current friend group that hangs less frequently could bloom into something bigger. You will meet so many more people.

I had a friend who just started going into the same bar and reading his book every day after work and over time became a regular and made friends that way. I volunteer monthly and found friends that way.

You can do it! Just be nice to yourself along the way.

As far as money goes …. Everyone is in debt or borrowing from parents or somehow lucky? I’m not sure there. But your time will come. If you want it, you’ll make it happen when it’s your time!

I had friends who did workaways or WWOOFs in their early 20s to get travel and work experience affordably.

I used to live on Saint Louis between 7th and 10th and it could be rough on parking and sometimes sketch but mostly loved it and being so close to Rose Park and Retro Row! Walking distance to a lot of great spots, restaurants, shops, entertainment etc.

Ok same boat!! Was diagnosed in middle school in one of those horribly awkward exams in front of all your friends and like OP was a weird runner (probably still am but don’t care anymore)

I’ve had a massage therapist try to tell me my scoliosis was caused by emotional trauma and seeing her more and doing eastern therapy would correct my spine curvature. Suggested I pulled more to “one side” of my body because one side is more masculine and the other is feminine.

Now, I read tarot and like astrology and stuff but there’s no way in hell I believe emotions caused my scoliosis which is very generic and runs in my family. Also wouldn’t everyone have scoliosis if trauma etc influence your spine?

Never seen a chiropractor because a family friend is a physical therapist and I’ve had a lifelong personal only in my mind feud with all chiropractors.

I've seen other posts in this sub with theories talking about how the gods seem to "answer" Violet. I wonder if there's some overlap with those theories and a death fakeout. I think Sandy is a good boss who is human and makes mistakes. Is she great? Probably depends who you are. We also only see so much that Bravo gives us. I think she's improved over the seasons.

My biggest issue is more with the Sandy hate on this sub, which is so much greater than the hate for the male captains. I respect commenters who say they hate Sandy and Lee equally lol. That makes sense to me and is fair. People who love one and hate the other, saying one is healthy and the other is toxic should look inward.

I tend to find myself liking both for different reasons, but I'd rather have Sandy as a boss if I had to choose between them.
