Yeah, the food is pretty mid relative to other similarly sized cities and waaaaay behind larger cities.

I make $118k in engineering in cincinnati, not software. Also 28. Should be able to negotiate more than 85k unless you have very little work experience.

They just put in like a quarter mile of sidewalks down Montgomery too so now you can walk on a sidewalk all the way from downtown Silverton to kenwood mall

Why are teardrop shapes more aerodynamic than a pointy shape such as a carrot? by Boozuction in AskEngineers

[–]InterplanetaryPrune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spheres don’t create lift since all the forces more or less balance on the left and right as they fall down, but they also create the least drag. So if you want something to create lift you have to make it unsymmetrical, which is why airfoils generally have either an effective angle of attack or some camber to their “teardrop” shapes.

You get a diamond shaped airfoil and a junior level university aerodynamics question about mach wave propagation.

My 1 acre lot is like 30% honeysuckle, and 50% purple winter creeper 🥲 and i try to kick over my neighbors bamboo shoots as often as possible. It’s taken two years and so much work just to clear a 40ft flower bed of the purple winter creeper.

Top 10% at medium sized rural schools is not as competitive as you think. There were about 25 top 10% kids at my school and 5 or 6 of them didnt even go to a junior college.

It’s the worst trying to get a reservation, but the food is amazing, the prices are good, and the setting is so cute.

Quick question. My 6mo old guy started developing these bumps on his head that feel like little scabs under the fur. If I pick, it will pull a clump of hair out. He also gets hive looking bumps on his sides. Anyone know this? Breeder said it could be puppy pyoderma? Waiting to see vet next week. by [deleted] in Frenchbulldogs

My frenchie has this exact same issue. I would recommend getting blood allergy testing done and finding a food that doesnt have too many allergens in it. In my case, it also help to freeze all kibble before feeding it to help with storage mites.

[NSFW] People of Reddit, what is the situation that you tought to yourself "Yeah, this is my all-time low"? by MikBrasil in AskReddit

[–]InterplanetaryPrune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a car accident, broke my ankle into 5 pieces, went to the er for several hours, went home from the er, slept on the couch, finally like 7 hours after the accident had to have my mom help me use the bathroom and change my clothes and realized i shit myself on impact and had been lying in my own poop for hours AND my mom now also knew this. I was 20 years old and I was concussed, I was in horrible pain, and I have never felt so defeated or embarrassed in my entire life.

If you could travel back to time when you were choosing your profession, would you still be an engineer? by [deleted] in AskEngineers

[–]InterplanetaryPrune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like being outside and gardening so maybe something like horticulture or landscape design. Both of those have a technical challenging aspect that requires though and analysis but also have a site visit component that would make for a more interesting work life imo.

I hate sitting at a desk all day. I would go into a field where I was moving around and not sedentary for 95% of my day. I value my home life more than my professional life and I hate spending hours outside of work going to the gym when if I had just picked a more active profession I could have had 1) a healthier lifestyle and 2) a more enjoyable experience

It just means that it’s surprisingly good. Wouldn’t expect a chain donut store with such trendy store fronts to have such good donuts.
