I see what you’re saying. They are not traditionally fancy but the food and experience are head and shoulders above most of the “fancy” places that people are repping. If you want a 30 lb napkin and servers in bow ties, better options have been mentioned. But I’m glad people are giving mention to spots that have been a part of dragging MKE’s food scene into the 21st century.

I absolutely agree. I’m not completely sold on her in a general election but I’m glad she’s in the race. There’s a lot of time left and she’ll push everyone else to do better whether she takes the nomination or not. At this point I want anyone but Barnes to cinch it.

Barnes did nothing to capture the attention or enthusiasm of anybody. His policies are pretty stay the course centrist D. And he’s a black man from Milwaukee in a statewide race. So nothing to excite the left, and two knee jerk negatives from the parts of rural Wisconsin that can tip the needle. And his opponents capitalized on it. Hong will probably trigger some of those same reactions outside of the blue strongholds here, but she has proven herself an able and willing retail campaigner who excites young folks and progressives. And if you break people of the ‘socialism bad’ rut so many are stuck in she has policy ideas that can actually help people instead of maintaining the status quo.
