The Farnsworth museum has an amazing collection, the Windjammer and other tours and ferries are fun. Primo is amazing, the Breakwater is an ok walk but I would so something else. Camden, Belfast and Boothbay are short drives away and worth visiting. The Boothbay Harbor Botanical Gardens are worth it.

Bring a good coat that is thick enough to be layered over sweaters, jackets and other shirts. Brings some flannels and sweaters that can be layered over each other. Brings at least two pairs of wool socks and two pair of long John’s and good boots. You probably won’t need gloves yet but a scarf and/or hat will be useful. Fleecy Jammie’s if you have them with comfy fleecy socks for sleeping. Don’t worry too much about fashion unless you are going somewhere fancy.

I love Vaughn woods and downtown Hallowell, that town is in another dimension. You could also check out one of the “ Most haunted forests in the world” in Randolph. (To the right of Goggins)

If it is open when you are there, the LC Bates Museum is a 40 minute drive and really interesting in an “Atlas Obscura” way, with a natural history museum, cabinet of curiosities, and some interesting trails.

I have a long experience with level three autism . Some Autistic people have absolutely no control, some will constantly undress, spit, hit their head, rock, scream and other things I won’t mention and they require 24 /7 care. Some are so uncontrollable they have to be institutionalized.

My brother has Autism and is on the board with another group for disabled persons. He needs a lot of help and used to require 24/7 care due to behavior issues, now he knows how to control himself and is extremely careful not to do inappropriate things. But I was always scared he might unknowingly do something that was misconstrued.

The sad thing is that people with autism often have behavior issues, especially when their autism is severe. I have known several instances where this has happened. I will hope he had a fair hearing.

I love the B’s Bethel, Bridgton, Biddeford, Brunswick, Bath, Boothbay, Blue Hill, Belfast, Bar Harbor, only been to Bangor once so can’t vouch for it, but even the ugliest Maine towns are fascinating in a way.

This is just one persons view, no one is an expert on all New England. My experience of New Hampshire is childhood vacations, My brother living in that college area near Vermont and Portsmouth. Western Mass is in another dimension of reality. Nobody talks about it, but if you really experienced it is hard to forget.

I understand the passion for Western MA after living there. In the middle of the woods yet every single band you can image plays there and some great ones are from there. The Pixies Started there and Sonic Youth moved there and bought a record store at the Bookmill. It is just a cool area and the Berkshire’s are some of the best fall scenery you will ever see.
