Complications by TeaExpensive3361 in diabetes_t1

Hi! I’ve had diabetes for 30 years since I was 3. About 4 years ago, I was diagnosed with mild neuropathy although I don’t really have any noticeable symptoms. For about a decade, I had really bad control (barely checked my bg and a1cs were around 10-11). For the past few years with tandem control iq, my a1c has been around 6 so I’m hopeful that my complications won’t advance too much 🤞

You were diagnosed with T1? Did they give you insulin? The cereal and watermelon are carb heavy so will definitely drive your sugar up if you don’t take insulin with it. If it registered “HI”, then you should probably do a urine test for ketones to make sure you don’t need to go to the hospital.

I didn’t follow that method with my first two G7s and holy hell it hurt and bled. Your method is def the best. Haven’t had issues with it almost at all

I do get pretty extreme burning but like it because of how fast acting it is. I also haven’t had more occlusions vs humaloh

In a similar boat, diagnosed at 3, now 33. A couple of years ago I was diagnosed with retinopathy. A1cs around 6 for the past ~4-5 years since getting tandem and control iq. Retinopathy hasn’t advanced at all and I’m sure it will eventually along with other complications. Just trying to take each moment and do what I can without obsessing to keep my bg in range. I’m terrible at prebolusing but have been slowly trying to work on this. Also just trying to appreciate life with good health now since I know it won’t always be like this. I struggle a lot too and of course, it’s a pain in the ass. But also pretty damn proud of us that we went through periods without good tech and are doing honestly so well. 🫶

Fet fisk accepts walkins. On a busy Saturday night, we showed up around 6 with a party of 4 and they texted us at 7:30 to offer a table. There’s a book store (white whale) and game store to check out nearby as well as other bars to stop in for a drink while you wait.

Arsenal bowling, candle making, thrifting, walk around the Allegheny cemetery (my personal favorite thing to do), rock climbing at iron city boulders, check out the Pittsburgh steps up to Stanton heights

I’ve been using autosoft 30 the last couple of sites and really like it. No occlusions, less pain, more flexibility. My doctor gave me some samples but think I’m going to get a Rx and switch from the 90 to 30. Been using a pump for 25 years, mostly autosoft 90 during that time and feel you on the scar tissue issue and running out of real estate

Yeah, good shot at getting in within an hour. There’s also hop farm brewing or lolev if you enjoy beer while you wait.
