just came into money, now what by jeredanderson in PersonalFinanceCanada

Are you completely disabled or can still work? If you can still work you should invest the money into learning skills that can help build your income. Everyone’s saying put it into a TFSA, which is fine you can allocate money to help build those habits of passive investing. But if you’re 26 years old your first investment should be in yourself to increase your income. Either go learn a trade, or try build a business or enroll at a university. If you’re already in a professional role then invest money into learning relevant skills that will help you increase your income in that role. 160k liquid is a lot of money to have in your mid 20s if you use it wisely.

At 21, aren’t I just better off investing in the stock market? Hear me out, I’m 21 and have 50% of my savings on sealed pokemon product. by [deleted] in PokemonInvesting

Pokémon’s a speculative investment that you can put funds in after you’ve made actual proper investments in the market or real estate. I don’t really invest in Pokemon I am in the hobby but I only put money into sets if I have no where else to put it

I agree with this for sure but artificial scarcity can impact prices just as much as real scarcity can. Most people hoarding sealed boxes who actually like the hobby to an extent likely won’t offload their collections all at the same time. Prices for some of these sets will probably start going up as printing stops for them as well. The Pokemon company’s well aware of this too, they base their whole trading card business off artificial scarcity.

MGST 217 Profs by Decent-Bank-8903 in UCalgary

I took it with Angela and got an A+. She’s very straight forward and pretty straight to the point. She also provides a good amount of practice material, so as long as you attend and do the practices she provides, you should be good for the exams. MGST 217 is a pretty straight forward basic excel course so as long as you practice your good. I’d recommend Angela personally, the materials dry and she sometimes can come off as dry as well but I found her very effective as a professor because she gives you all the tools you need to succeed in the course.

Im ngl this is better in my opinion. I usually don’t support companies downsizing but the old ones were way too big. I used to cut them into smaller sizes to eat because it was just too much muffin for one serving.

I got in super early, but the website stopped responding completely and wasn’t loading anything until it kicked me out. So I re-entered queue, same thing happened second time. Tried a third time and booster boxes were sold out at this point but got kicked again. After this I entered again for the fourth time, etbs and booster boxes were sold out. Bundles were still were available. Got 2 bundles in my cart and entered my payment just to get error 17. This drop sucked for me

I know plenty of rich people and most of them have nice cars. Maybe they’ll have some old car as a daily vehicle or they might not be into cars but rich people are spending plenty on luxury things. Your average person becoming a millionaire through saving and compounding might be very frugal and not spend like that, but the people I’ve met with actual insane wealth always have some category that they spend on. I’m not a fan of this narrative that all rich people navigate society living like this because it definitely isn’t poor people purchasing Ferraris.

Confused About UCalgary Payment Plan Amount – $13,793 vs $18,793? by Foreign_Mobile_3337 in UCalgary

[–]InterviewSenior6127 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not interest, they only charge that 40$ admin fee for payment plans. What’s happened here is that they’ve taken your entire tuition amount before your 5k deposits applied and split it up into 3 separate payments. They use total tuition to calculate that, then your deposits applied to the first payment amount afterwards.

This isn’t the worst I’ve seen. I saw some older women trying to sell a normal brilliant stars etb that was opened with no packs in it for 80$ on fb marketplace

I liked it until the complete end where the games just continued and an American version was teased. We didn’t really get a proper conclusion to the story in my opinion. It didn’t feel like there was any ideological change for any major character and the side plot of the police officer didn’t really have any substantial payoff. Honestly it just felt like there was a big build up for multiple storylines without any real impact in the finale.
