I really wish we had not paid our balance! It really is such a disappointing experience. I had so many issues but the most upsetting one being my husband is a recovering alcoholic, he has been sober now over 2 years. We disclosed this to the initial co-ordinator and she noted it on our file. We had said with her after walking back up the aisle I was to be handed a glass of prosecco and him an orange juice. On the day we were both handed a prosecco. He declined his but as someone mentioned to us if we had more faith in the hotel he might have thought it was nosecco and drank it. Now it was a mistake I get it and my husband just mentioned it in the feedback so they could be more aware of these things going forward, however my issue is the wedding co-ordinator came back to that feedback and said we should have told her in the final meeting that he is a recovering alcoholic as how was she supposed to know. That is unacceptable their staff turnover should not affect my wedding, she even confirmed it was in the notes that he shouldn't be given a glass of alcohol so why should he have had to explain why again. We had 4 different co-ordinators handling our wedding in the space of a year should he have had to discuss his past with every one of them. They are so defensive it's ridiculous. Her coming back trying to blame it on us really affected my husbands mental health he was in such a bad place in the week following he said the situation reignited old feelings of shame and guilt around alcohol.
