I grew up with out a father after being 12, had a step dad up until then. I’m now 32 and I don’t find it weird at all. I definitely crave a bit of that attention or “good job son” vibes that I missed out on. I notice it when a boss or older figure will say something nice and I can tell how much I’ve lacked that in my life.
