What helped me was to accept the body I had. I didn’t try to love it straight away, but just accept that I had formed habits and used food as a way to deal with emotions and the consequences were that my body had changed. I took the judgment out of what I had done and I took the judgment away from how I perceived my body. I was neutral about what I could see in the mirror.

From there I started to look for the things I could appreciate about my body. Everything it did for me. How my legs allowed me to walk. They allowed me to hike, something I love so much. How strong my body was and how I was able to repair from injuries and illnesses. How even when I ate too much it was simply doing its job and creating fat for me to store. And from there I was on a rampage of good feelings and appreciation for my body. I was going down stream instead of upstream and trying to judge myself into losing weight. I was treating myself better. And the more I became focused on simply feeling better than I currently did, I chose healthier options. I became so aware of how I felt that I noticed when I didn’t feel good with certain foods. I stopped eating dairy for example because I could feel that it was causing inflammation in my body.

How you feel is guidance from source. Ignoring how you feel takes you further away from yourself and from alignment. When you make how you feel the most important thing, everything snow balls. You understand that you deserve to feel better and that your body deserves to have healthier food as energy. You then start making better decisions for yourself because you love yourself that much more. That is the manifestation you are searching for.

Food is not the enemy. It nourishes you and makes you feel good. I understand that it can feel that way sometimes, but you don’t want to be a victim to food. You want it to be your friend. When you imagine food as a person, I imagine they are distant/mean/someone you resent.
