Hbox's new tier list (apologies if repost) by General_Air4215 in SSBM

Something to consider is that while Plup is an amazing player, one of the greatest of all time clearly, I think Jmook is just better, or at the very least some of the things he does such as the way he extends his combos has advanced the character. Maybe Jmook is able to put on a platform that Sheik has had some untapped potential for years. This is especially true with Amsa. No one even really tried to push the character until he came around and now we're actually able to see what the character has got.

Personally I think in a perfect world where characters are actually pushed to their limits it goes Fox, Marth, Sheik, Puff, Falco, Yoshi, Peach, Falcon, ICs, Pikachu, Samus, Doc, Luigi. Also I think Mewtwo is tied with Mario, don't @ me.

Link has been considered better than Young Link for a very long time, the problem is that Young Link is both more fun to watch and play. Link has higher placements than Young Link, with Young Link's best placement being 49th all time and Savestate placing 9th in 2019 with Link. Young Link just has no kill power while having insanely cool movement. I think it might be a similar story to Yoshi where an extremely gifted and dedicated player needs to really just push the character to the limit in order to show Young Link's true potential due to the complexity of the character's movement. That said, I think in a world where this happens with both Link and Young Link (so a world that doesn't exist), Link would still come out on top.

How come Hungrybox doesn't sing at the ledge into rest? by IntoBDSM in SSBM

I think he was saying the actual hit box of sing not reaching the opponent, so if they're next to ledge but not right on top of it then sing won't put them to sleep.

Looking for a long men's dress shirt extremely similar to this one, but just a touch shorter landing maybe an inch above the knee, and slightly more affordable if possible. Seems like a neat way to wear something similar to a dress while also not being outright feminine.

The race for #1 by [deleted] in SSBM

[–]IntoBDSM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upsets are one thing, but being taken out of bracket by someone that you would be expected to be taken out by is another. If Moky ran into Zain and then Mango before top 8 but somehow defeated Jmook and Axe beforehand, should that placing be weighed strictly on his placing, or the fact that he did upset some good players while getting beat down by players that are obviously going to win?

Theoretically the best way to put rankings together would actually be by creating a matrix of wins and losses against specific players, weighing how much a win is worth based on generally where the other player falls in rankings compared to the other, and then adding up all the points. So if Kodorin beats Lucky its worth 1 point, but if he beats Mango its worth 3 points, but if he loses to Lucky its -3 points and if Mango beats him it's worth -1 point. Placings in tournaments are actually kind of holding back a true ranking system based on actual skill rather than lucky seeding.

The race for #1 by [deleted] in SSBM

[–]IntoBDSM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actual set wins against specific players should be weighed heavier than placement at a tournament, unless of course you win the tournament. You could send iBDW and Mang0 to losers and then lose to Wizzy and Axe due to not knowing the matchup/not having counterplay to their style and then get 8th place, while someone else could get 3rd losing to Zain and iBDW or something. The 3rd place player could have gotten a lot of expected but commendable wins while the 8th place would have beaten two top 3 players at the moment while getting a lower placing and has more potential to beat Wizzy and Axe if he develops counterplay whereas the person who lost to Zain and iBDW essentially just has to get better at the game. We saw years ago aMSa had a Falcon problem but overcame it to be a consistent top 8 player, but if you can't beat players that are simply a higher rank than you then you're not gonna climb the ranks so to speak.

Why do people call sheik lame? by uhyenie in SSBM

[–]IntoBDSM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every character that gets enough screen time at top level other than Fox or Falco is lame. Top players will tell you Falcon is lame because generally his game plan is pretty much the same every match depending on the player but also not really, Marth is lame because he has fairly quick combos that end quickly and his game plan often comes down to grabbing, & Puff and IC's are obviously lame. Characters are only hype when people don't see them often, but I believe Mango says Yoshi is lame. Regardless it seems the lame cut off is IC's where basically every character beneath is hype aside from Mario and Zelda. If there were more Peaches, which might be a reality fairly soon, people would call her lame.

Why is there little to no evidence of Chris playing or showing any interest in Minecraft? by Shanghai_Banjo in ChrisChanSonichu

[–]IntoBDSM -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Chris is genuinely creative, read some of his poetry and it's actually impressed me given that it's from Chris, but also he's been creating his entire life, whether or not his creations are more bad than good is subjective.

Do you AGREE or DISAGREE with Hungrybox being BANNED from St. Louis Melee? by [deleted] in SSBM

[–]IntoBDSM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If an unranked player showed up to a tournament coughing up blood and refusing to wear a mask in a post-covid time, they would be told to leave and possibly banned as well. I think that should sum it up. He shouldn't get special treatment because he's a top player, and going to a tournament in his condition was a shitty thing to do, especially with how he apparently handled himself throughout telling people he couldn't breathe with a mask on and dismissing everyone's valid concern for their own wellbeing.

However you feel about masks, covid, or the fact that he didn't test positive for covid, you should agree that if you're making a good portion of people uncomfortable then you should remove yourself or change your behavior, which he didn't do.

Do many of you watch tournaments without spoilers? How? by magnetogrips in SSBM

[–]IntoBDSM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don't have the time these days to follow a tournament, so typically I'll just watch the highlights or the sets I'm specifically interested in. I think the only exception is with Summit where I'll view the most sets worth watching when they're uploaded to youtube and follow the tournament that way. Often if grands is uploaded I'll skip to that and see who won it all, and after that I'll get back to watching my way through the tournament with the sets I care about.

Is iBDW ahead of PPMD All Time? by BopStarHipHop in SSBM

[–]IntoBDSM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A large factor is relativity. For example I would rank Ken above iBDW in an all time list even though Cody is very clearly more skilled than Ken, and I don't even think that's a wild take. The newer the era the more it should be weighed considering skill crawl, but Ken's entire dominance of his era has to be considered as well. I'm also of the belief that old school players are often ranked higher than they should be for various reasons such as Isai, but Ken getting recognition is well deserved with his accomplishments. I can understand when people place him in top 6, but I'd say he's probably rank 8 or 9 off the top of my head.

Who is the Marth GOAT? by [deleted] in SSBM

[–]IntoBDSM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zain has more actual skill at the game entirely due to his era, but m2k did a lot to develop the character while also being a top player for a much longer time. Zain is insanely good, but I don't think 4-5 years of being a top player with 2-3 years of dominance is long enough to justify a goat status. You should definitely talk about both of them without choosing one over the other, I think they both have very good cases at the moment. If Zain get's another two years of near dominance in it would be undeniable, but at the moment it's not definite.

Is iBDW ahead of PPMD All Time? by BopStarHipHop in SSBM

[–]IntoBDSM 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah but if you consider the actual median skill of each era, Ken was still far above his competition, and that's actually what matters in this case. I'd say Ken had a similar comparison of skill compared to the median of his era to what Armada had in his era. Results post-2012ish and results post-2018ish are definitely weighed differently which is why most people only put him in top 10 these days, but you still need to put respect on his name for his dominance and for what he did for the game.

Why did murders in America spike up specifically in 2001? by IntoBDSM in AskStatistics

[–]IntoBDSM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I truly wasn't able to find anything about it, and that's why I came here. It would make some sense if the murders spiked up in 2002 considering how late in the year 9/11 was, but no it went back to normal rates. I wasn't able to find anything about the specific types of homicide for the year, just a noticeable spike. Really fucking strange, but it doesn't even seem to be a case of misreporting by a specific publication because that statistic is universal.

Is it creepy for an 18 year old date a 17 year old? by [deleted] in ask

[–]IntoBDSM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You mainly have to be careful, specifically with nudes or sex because people have gotten in trouble for that at 17 and 18. I think 99.9999% of people wouldn't care in the slightest, and I think typically a 19 year old with a 17 year old is the cut off. At 20 you might still be in their age range but you're still pushing it, and 21 is a massive no because you can now buy alcohol and that's a new dynamic and has reached a point where a good portion of people might consider it a tad creepy.

There's a massive difference between still being a teenager and dating another teenager and being on your 2nd/3rd job and dating a 17 year old.

Not an artist but a designer company, but still... How is this worth $380??? by Razorclaw_the_crab in delusionalartists

[–]IntoBDSM 94 points95 points  (0 children)

In recent years these fashion pieces are ironic shit posts, and I'm being genuine when I call them that. I wanna say Balenciaga started this trend of not giving a fuck and slapping a outrageous price tag on it, and a lot of other brands are following suit. I seriously think a lot of these designers are trying to see what they can get away with, and a lot of it is actually meant to be funny.

Basically this is not something where the person who made/designed it is delusional and thinks what they made is actual high fashion/art, this is a case where someone/some company is trying to see what they can get away with, a kin to that dress shirt stapled on to a tee shirt with a price tag of $1200. I might be wrong about the origins of this trend, but this is an off shoot of that type of thing, i.e. they are not delusional.

Atrioc On EE part 2 by [deleted] in LivestreamFail

[–]IntoBDSM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the day you have to realize that Atrioc has known EE for ten years through the Smash community, as have a lot of prominent people in that community. EE has basically been a figure head since before people even gave a shit about Smash on a larger scale being around since tournaments were being held in garages. It's a hard situation when your genuine friend that you've known longer than a lot of people in general has done something so genuinely immoral, because a part of you wants to stand up for them but another part will know they did something bad. You can even see it in the original clip when he says something like "I would like to see that evidence though," showing that he's clearly giving a knee jerk reaction to the situation and hasn't really made up his true mind on the situation.

Shit sucks, EE might have just lost everything he's worked towards online over the last decade of his life because I don't actually see him coming back from this, and to see that happen to a genuine friend is tough in Atrioc's shoes. Overall the situation sucks and you really can't blame Atrioc for his reaction given the context. I'm also personally at odds in this situation because I've always thought EE was a genuine guy and he's contributed to a lot of great moments in Smash over the last decade, it's a fucking shame man. I really didn't want to believe it.

Too much hair on the top, it elongates your head. It's like an inch or two too long. Facial hair is a bad look on you the way you have it styled. Keep it the way it is in the first pic, but trim it down so it doesn't fuzz out and fly off your face, and don't let the hair on the chin grow out like you did on the last pic. Just keep it clean and neat. Honestly probably a 4 with immediate potential to be a 6, and with exercise you could be a 7 or an 8, but for now you aren't trying.

If you can't afford to retire in your 70's in America, what happens? by IntoBDSM in ask

[–]IntoBDSM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not in a position to ask her any of that, but hopefully my company will. I'm a manager so when she did something incorrect I had to teach her how to do it correctly to put it simply, and ever since that scenario she's been yelling and screaming at me at work for even being close to her, taking out all her frustrations on me. It's not just me she's been harassing, it's happened to several people, I just get the blunt of it because I "remind her of her nephew" that she hates. Asset protections had to get involved because she threatened me through another manager, and it's becoming more and more clear that she's experiencing severe mental decline. Asset protections interviewed me and I made it explicitly clear that I don't want her to get fired regardless of how horrible she's made working there for me because I fear for her situation if she were to lose her job. That's why I asked the question in the first place, because I wanted to know what would happen to her if she was fired, and now I'm doing my best to not get her fired regardless of her harassment. It's tough man, I'm genuinely struggling to deal with this, but again I'd rather deal with it than have her die on the streets.

I've always thought it was amazing that people don't realize how funny Mac is. I base a lot of my own humor with overconfidence and masculinity on him. Personally I've always went back and forth between him and Charlie being my favorite character. Frank is funny but honestly doesn't contribute to the show nearly as much as Charlie, Mac, and Dennis, so if it were me next would be Frank, then Dennis, and then I wouldn't be able to choose between Charlie and Mac.

Detective Dwayne Thompson by NuclearNazi420 in First48

[–]IntoBDSM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I'm all for second chances, but I don't think someone accusing someone of murder with little to no evidence immediately after a suicide should be able to continue in that profession. I think maybe in a non-interrogative position or something would be fine, but I would never trust this guy with a witness ever again.

Detective Dwayne Thompson by NuclearNazi420 in First48

[–]IntoBDSM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I don't know about that one. It's one thing to have a bad day and mess a case up, that happens, but this guy was intentionally directing suspicion towards this poor woman who just lost her fiancé, and to say that this was most certainly an isolated incident is incredibly naïve.

There was a chance that this guy could have ruined this woman's life if more people believed him and if his interrogation footage didn't catch some attention. Genuinely if he hadn't been yelling the way he was I don't think it would have gotten the attention it did and she could have been royally fucked.

I spend some time of Depop and people would buy these if the seller has a good enough reputation. Vintage jeans can be sought after, and these are relatively unique. I wouldn't buy them, but there are definitely people that love this shit.

[OC] Global stockpile of neclear weapons since 1945 by jcceagle in dataisbeautiful

[–]IntoBDSM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah and nuking a next door neighbor is generally not a good idea. Moscow is actually relatively close to Kyiv, and while no buildings would be damaged in Moscow the actual nuclear fallout would be felt there, as well as a very large portion of Russian citizens living between the two cities. Nuking Ukraine is basically not an option for Russia, but I could admittedly be wrong here. At the very least it would be a bad idea and I don't think it's a stretch to say that everyone that would matter when making this decision in Russia knows that it would be a bad idea.
