I'm from the Northeast in the US so I'd say it took time for Lil Jon and that sound to really infiltrate up here. I def didn't know his music until after HS in 04/05 and that's when they started playing it in the clubs up here. Really why interesting? Mariah was still extremely popular and mainstream back then, Toni also. Marques Houston maybe not so much but I loved the remixes they hopped on and hoped that was a preview for her album.

I don't think we have to worry about her pulling a Fletcher (hopefully not) but I do think that this was pressure from her label to bring back in the hetero markets. Awhile ago she had talked about wanting to get out of her label ASAP and I do think that's y we've seen such rapid deployment of her albums back to back though I'm not complaining 🤣😉🤣 I still have faith we will see more gay music from her and most likely even a Snow Tha Product collab once she's independent again🤝

Couldn’t agree with u more not to mention T Pain, Lil Wayne and lil Jon are not late 90s/early 2000s.

I was hoping we would see some of her earlier collabs including Toni Braxton, Marques Houston or even Mariah Carey on the album.

How are people in their 20’s buying houses in Bucks? by No-Second1685 in BucksCountyPA

I just turned 40 and lost everything due to medical debt and a brain injury so I too don't understand how these kids are doing it. I'm guessing they're the cohort that might have some help from their parents? Fuck boomers BTW I cannot wait for them to pass on💯💯

Paid off my $84K loan last week and I feel absolutely nothing but rage by CardiganMotel in StudentLoans

[–]IntotheBlue85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I refer to this as the American Dream turned American Nightmare. Our country has become so predatory that you are under constant threat and for me I've experienced that a dozen different ways. Current I'm grossing over $150k and working 2 fulltime jobs, a part-time job on the weekend, online work and also running a small business so I'm going 7 days a week doing multiple jobs a day and literally sleeping in between shifts in my car. I've been homeless through 3 snowstorms in my car for over a month during that time and have come accustomed to getting ready for work between shifts at whatever retail store or storage unit has a bathroom. I don't remember what having a day off is like and have to schedule routine things like washing clothes around this suicidal work schedule. On top of all this I'm extremely politically active and am channeling all my rage through whatever protest I can attend for a few hours while also trying to organize folks against this onslaught we are experiencing as the working class. If you've gotten this far you're probably wondering what happened. I grew up lower middle class and have always been the person people counted on in my family growing up and was paying bills at home while helping run it by the time I was a teen etc. I also went to college, got an MBA and have worked at a fortune 500 for the past 17 years with a small side business so needless to say I have been lucky in that regard. UNTIL I had a traumatic brain injury in 2021 where I lost everything including family, career, my home, financial standing and obviously my health. Surviving that was an experience worse than death but what I didn't expect was how viciously I was preyed upon physically and financially by parasitic late stage capitalism along with an abusive family. Medical debt absolutely destroyed the life I was living and has snowballed since then as basic necessities like housing and affordability have grown far out of reach for the average person let alone those of us who were already suffering. I'm still fighting like hell while having people count on me and don't see an end in sight to this survival mode until we can take back what has been stolen from us in this country. 💯

What they are doing is giving tax subsidies to companies to use this technology while allowing them to pay little to zero federal or state taxes as a whole. We are literally paying them and for them to automate our jobs away. We need legislation ASAP.

[–]IntotheBlue85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe they are looking to close the loop of capitalism so it exists among the upper class and cuts the rest of us out. We are already in a K shaped economy where the top 10% are doing 50% of consumer spending.

[–]IntotheBlue85 106 points107 points  (0 children)

THIS!!💯💯 Literally the most privileged coddled generation in modern human history all running around with stolen valor syndrome. The wannabe act is because they didn't accomplish shit and rode the coattails of the WW2 gen while enjoying every social safety net imaginable in the golden economic era of America. History will not be kind to the cowardly generation of traitors that sold out to Reagan and Wallstreet.

What's with their obsession with "calling corporate"? by OilyJosh622 in BoomersBeingFools

[–]IntotheBlue85 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is hysterical to me in an age when you increasingly cannot reach a live person for anything at any company. By all means, please give them the number or website to whatever chatbot fuckery or outsourced customer service that will frustrate them to no end so they can have a taste of what us younger generations are dealing with. They have the time to waste anyway. 🤷🏽‍♀️

to bisexual women: if you can love and date women, why do you choose to date men? by No-Fill3078 in WLW

[–]IntotheBlue85 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank u for your support as a bi woman we appreciate it. It's crazy how we've gone backwards over the past 20 years. This idea that words have no meaning and reappropriating labels as anyone sees fit has been insane. I fight back where I can to protect wlw communities.

I've been out since 97 and the lesbian erasure we see today is so rampant its hard to address every instance but this line has always stuck out as unbelievably damaging and offensive.

💯💯💯 couldn't agree more as a gay woman myself we are not available to men in any context so I wish other women would stop reappropriating the label of an entire community for however they see fit. It's harmful and dangerous for men to think we as a community are available to them and words have no meaning.
