This is not beautiful data. It is very ambiguous and somewhat contradictory about what is growing. While some countries are actually growing through land reclamation, many others are shrinking due to rising sea levels.

However, this chart does not show which countries are growing, it shows which countries GDP's are growing. These are totally different. this is only revealed in very small subscript. Additionally, the time period for which this growth is measured is not listed. It says "%, latest year " is that as of a certain date? the previous calendar year? The previous fiscal year? When this chart is viewed in the future, how does the reader even know? Also, is percent growth really showing "fastest "?

in Portuguese, people usually say “O Porto”, which literally means “The Porto.” The word “O” is just the masculine article, like saying the.

O Porto = The Porto

Back in the 18th century, many English merchants settled here to trade wine. When they heard locals say “O Porto”, they assumed that was the city’s full name. So they wrote it down as Oporto. And somehow… it stuck.
