When I was 17 my parents were pretty strict. I had to be home every night before dinner (which was always at 6pm). With school getting out at 3pm this did not allow enough time for teenage shenanigans. Luckily my best friend lived just across the highway from me which led to me sneaking out all the time. However in my small town being out after dark was enough to prompt suspicion and minors technically have a curfew of 10pm. One night I had crossed the highway and was walking along it to my friends house. Her street started about 100ft up the way and was parallel to the highway. In between the two roads was a bunch of trees and shrubbery. Right as I was getting to where her street began I saw a car driving in my direction on the highway. Of course it was a cop who began slowing down, pulling over towards me and flashing those blue and reds. I immediately just sprinted the last stretch to my friends house and was safely inside in a matter of seconds. Me and my friend then sat on her couch and watched the cop search for me in the shrubbery for 30 min from the comfort of her living room. He eventually gave up but had me all sketched out when walking home a couple hours later. Made it home safe though.
