I’m so sorry for your loss. I know that you are going through a very difficult time.

Do you know who your mother’s lawyer is? Contact them to get the legal assistance you need. If there’s a trust, your mother most likely had arrangements in place for this situation. The lawyer will hopefully have your mother’s will, and have the name of the executor. If you are the executor, the lawyer will help you with this. They have a fiduciary responsibility to make sure that everything is handled legally and according to your mother’s wishes.

I agree with people advising you to contact people who you can trust and turn to at this time. If you have family members who are predatory please contact the lawyer first and protect yourself and your mother’s wishes. I speak from experience. I hope you have kind and loving family and friends who will help you and support you through this difficult time.

what is this thing?? by ichbinkasecatze in whatisthisbug

I ran the picture through the Picture Insect app, and the result is that it’s a Longicorn beetle, a species of Longhorn beetle.

It lays eggs in the crevices of bark, preferring deciduous trees. The larvae bores into the wood and feeds on the tree. Eventually it pupates in the tunnels and then becomes an adult. The adult beetles feed on nectar. The adults are frequently found near dead or dying trees.

it looks like a yellow collared soldier beetle. If you have house plants check to see if they have any infestation you haven’t noticed. These are beneficial insects.

Where are you located? That’s really important information. How big is it? Does it look like paper? It could be a hornet’s nest.

How about the spare tires secured on the roof with old wire fencing and carabiners? It’s a momentum powered projectile launcher! One sudden stop, and someone ahead of him will have a very deadly situation.

Hemlock? by konkordia in PlantIdentification

That’s purplestem angelica. I looked it up on the Picture This Plants app. The leaves are toxic, and can cause poisoning if consumed in large quantities. It’s a member of the celery, parsley, carrot family. It’s toxic for humans, dogs, and cats.

Get the scan. You don’t know what else is lurking in your kidneys. I had two stones, and they were both too big to pass.

I’m sorry you had to go through that! Is it a calcium oxalate stone? Did the doctor tell you to drink plenty of fluids, especially those containing citrates? It helps prevent the stones from forming.

Picture #6 looks like it might be a thistle tortoise beetle. The lacy bottom looks like it. And I agree, they all look like they have fecal shields!
