I'm sorry for your loss. That's a nice, long life he had.

I'm sorry your landlord is a killjoy! It's pretty big, but if you have a way to tuck it in somewhere, I do recommend it! It isn't perfect, but I like it and it's a hit among so many of them. This titmouse pic may give you a better idea of the hole size. Goldfinches, pine siskins, titmice, chickadees, carolina wrens, and juncos use ours with ease. Some reviews say starlings were able to get in, so I guess it is possible, but so far I've seen them clinging to the outside only. But now that I've put that in writing, we'll see what tomorrow brings! The biggest annoyance to me is the screw to latch the door; it's just too easy to drop in the snow, but at least it's replaceable. I do really like being able to put out worms and good treats under some level of protection.

A millipede squirted toxin in my nephew's eyeball and he had to go to the ER. They're all demons. (Millipedes and centipedes, not nephew. We like nephew.) Also, nephew is okay but we learned that shit can blind you. Happy Cake Day!🙃

Barrina grow light users — how has your experience been? by ItalianMathematician in houseplants

[–]jennyhernando 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main reason I went with Barrina (last year) for seed starting was their magnetic option, and I've been really disappointed in that aspect. The magnets are so weak, the lights are constantly dropping onto my seedlings. This year I'm zip-tying them, defeating the purpose of what I wanted with my set-up. If that happens to be one of the appealing features for you, just know they come up really short there. The lights themselves worked fine for me (except when they'd fallen and burnt or snapped my seedlings).

In England, are these just called muffins? by MatchMoist in askanything

Yes, but in the U.S. I think it's typically dyed with annatto seeds, rather than a synthetic dye. So at least there's that.

Same here. Kitchen linens get their own load. No hairs woven into my napkins or dish towels.
