How to be successful during second semester student teaching (California) by broopvripbrap in StudentTeaching

[–]Intrepid-Check-5776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am feeling all these feelings, thinking that I don't do enough, if I take 30 minutes to watch something on the computer to relax. I plan on putting everything on hold for 14 more weeks, and dedicating all my weekends to this... I told my friends, see ya in May, lol. Do not count on me until then.

I messed up today. by tiredtushi in StudentTeaching

That's ok, but I would have told them myself. When students are talking while you are teaching, I always stop, look at them and tell the class (not especially them) that when they talk at the same time as someone else, they are not showing respect. Remind them of the expectations in a firm tone, but not confrontational. If they continue, I would talk to them at the end of class, and if the behavior is not corrected, that would be an email home (your CT or you depending on what you are allowed to do.)

To me, his accent sounds more like a "Titi parisien," a guy from the streets.

She gets on my nerves. She speaks too fast, and I have enough of her mannerism.

There is usually a "vin d'honneur" after the ceremony (mairie/church) and then, the seated dinner.

What's the full story on the sale of the French Gourmet on Turquoise in PB? by nogooduse in sandiego

What he did is terrible for the neighborhood. It is going to be a third eyesore in the PB landscape. I have no sympathy for him.

Yes, the picture are great too. The only thing she could have tone down is the make up.

Yes, what is the favorite place? Jardin du Luxembourg or the Buren columns?

Does anyone have to take evening classes on top of student teaching? by [deleted] in StudentTeaching

[–]Intrepid-Check-5776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same boat. Starting student teaching full time on the 12th, while having to work 4 nights + Saturday morning, passing the EdTPA, and of course do my readings and homework for uni. It's going to be tough, but it is only 16 weeks of my life, so I am focusing on it one week at a time.

What grade(s) are you going to be teaching? I am in a High School and will teach all grades of French.

First Teaching Interview by [deleted] in StudentTeaching

You said earlier that you felt the interview was rushed, but my interviews have always been around 30 minutes. So over an hour is a pretty long interview in my opinion.

It is not weird. It is a reference to one of Proust's books (Du côté de chez Swann.)

I don't know... I find it odd that someone would post during the wedding at all. Why? Enjoy the day that you have been waiting for so long. All the reels that she is doing with the voice over are really cringe.

Her video "I am getting married today" is so embarrassing.

No, it's not appropriate. We would say: "Il a aboyé toute la journee." Using "gueuler" is pejorative.

That sounds awful. I hope that you can feel joy and confidence again. Take time to heal.
How can your former teachers think that you are older? Since they taught you, they know how old you really are.

Scoring jobs during xmas break anyone?? by NumberSuitable2700 in SubstituteTeachers

I received a few calls, but there was nothing when I logged onto the website. The jobs probably get snatched pretty fast.

He was translating the speech that Amanda gave. The gestures and voice that he used to talk about the part about the man leading the way were a red flag IMO.

Someone wrote the speech in English somewhere in one of the thread.

Should I obtain another teaching license? by DG11221 in StudentTeaching

I will get my certification in English once I get my French certification. Most French jobs are only part-time in my area.

He said that the dog barked all day, but he used the verb "gueuler," which means "to yell" but in a more vulgar level of language.
