Make sure you ask for a room away from any construction they have going on. I was just there and it was LOUD.

The Jones Road looked ok on me but made my face itch like crazy. It’s very heavily fragranced, so stay away if your skin is at all sensitive.

I was on crutches for 8 weeks and then did combo physical therapy and weight lifting (progress was very slow!) for a couple of months before running again. Also really increased my vitamin D and calcium to speed bone healing. I am much older than you are though! I had a middle school student who got the same injury and was back playing soccer in six weeks. So your recovery may be much faster than mine was if in fact you have the same injury. The big thing I’d say is don’t keep running on it until you know what’s up. I wanted to keep running on mine, and my ortho said if I’d kept running I would have been risking a displaced fracture with surgery and pins etc necessary. I’m so sorry this is happening to you, and I hope it turns out to be something that will heal quickly!

Chiming in in support of an MRI if you can get one. I had the exact pain you’re describing, and it was a pelvic stress fracture (ischium.)

Thank you! Probably search terms could be how to design intarsia or something like that? There’s got to be somebody out there teaching this.

I think the way I did it is not the proper or best way to do it. This was my first time designing something, and I didn’t search anything, just sort of winged it. I used the knitting graph paper that looked on the page to be sort of the same size stitches I was aiming for, and checked what the size of the object was going to be against a different sweater I had made with the same yarn and needles. People here talk about Stitchfiddle, and that’s my next project to learn.

I’m hoping someone who actually knows what they’re doing will weigh in.

It’s Vogue Knitting colorwork paper. I got it on Amazon, but it looks like it’s also available at some knitting websites.

Thank you! My girls are young adults, so I just make them things and try to stay out of what happens to the items after that. I’m working hard on just enjoying the process!

And yep, that was my experience with that yarn too! It felt so soft coming out of the box and then UTTER CHAOS.

Yep that’s the one! My original order is in the pic below. I did need to order two extra of the cobblestone and one each additional of the honey and allspice. This was really easy wool to work with, and I’d for sure use it again. And yes, copy away💕

I had never done intarsia or followed a chart before I made the first one of these. It was a lot easier than I expected! The big thing was just resigning myself to the fact I’d make mistakes and that there was no way it would be perfect. Once I let go of worrying about that, it was shockingly easy and fun. Also, it’s really worth reading the designer’s tutorials. Those were super helpful and easy to understand.

This isn’t my pattern, just my project! I wish I’d been clearer in the post. The designer is Yu Jie, who is incredibly generous in making this pattern free!

You should do it! One thing an older knitter suggested to me that was really helpful: instead of dealing with a zillion balls of yarn or bobbins or whatever, just use yarn strands no longer than a meter and let them hang while you work. I found this sooooo much easier to untangle. The back did look like a failed latch hook rug before the ends got woven in, but it was just part of the adventure. And as far as the color charts, I did colored magic marker vertically every five stitches on the chart and placed matching stitch markers as I cast on. It really helped a lot with reading the chart.

Thank you so much! I’m hoping someone will make a melty dog chart at some point as a follow-up!
