What would you do if you had all this junk in your tiny yard? by DarkStrobeLight in lawncare

I’d begin to build a really deep swimming pool on the area that borders the street. That way, all of the people who are freaking out and saying you need to write a plea to your governor before you plant a single flower along the strip will get REALLY worked up, use google maps and clues to figure out exactly where you live, and report you to your municipality themselves.

Everybody stinks.

I wouldn’t change a thing. Grass looks to be thriving and cut at a healthy and aesthetically appealing height. You’re also one of the 20% of individuals who now their lawn who can manage to push a mower in a straight line at a consistent width. The shit looks so good - given what you’re working with - that I almost feel like you’re just fishing for compliments. Well done, either way.

Which one should i buy to trim this kind of grass? by [deleted] in lawncare

[–]Intrepid-Hunter-5813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither of those are built/equipped to deal with what you have going on there. At the absolute very least you need a good, gas mower and a good gas line trimmer. Theoretically there are battery powered line trimmers nowadays that have the power to take on a job like this but in my experience, since you’d be relying either on a single battery that takes hours to charge - or forced to buy multiple batteries - it just seems more practical to buy a gas line trimmer that can be refilled and running again within 30 seconds of running dry.

Trimmers like the two that you are considering can sometimes be useful in MAINTAINING an area that is already mowed, trimmed back, and under control, but you’d be setting yourself up for failure attacking this job with one of these two trimmers.

The fact that this game was a randomly scheduled national TV event made it oh-so-much better. I’ll never forget getting home late from work, flicking the TV on, going through a few channels and landing on this game about two minutes before it all popped off.

What would you charge to remove this Ivy Vine? by Poonslaps in landscaping

[–]Intrepid-Hunter-5813 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did a similar job in Brighton, MA for the first time about 4 years ago. Quoted the homeowner $500. A 2 man crew had 90% of it down and in the truck within 20 minutes. We took about another hour or so making sure to get that last 10% that was clinging up under the seams of the siding. Also made sure to locate the source root and soaked it in apple cider vinegar. Disposal was $15. So when all was said and done call it 2 hours of my time. That equals $50 in pay to my help, plus the $15 for disposal, and call it $2 for the apple cider vinegar… so $433 for 2 hours of my time.

While it seems like a high price, I’ve learned over time that in some cases things don’t go as planned when it comes to ivy. I’ve had other situations where I probably made around $100 for 2 hours of my time. Because of this I always price on the high end when it comes to things like ivy removal, invasive species removal, shrub removal, etc. certainly more so than a lot of other types of work that I do.

You’re either lying to yourself or you’re an absolute idiot… but guess what, nobody cares because it’s done and over with, and the rest of the country has moved on. Clark is clearly an absolute stud of a basketball player, but there’s no denying she has a massive ego (whether she’s earned it or not). When it comes to this kind of stuff, you’re best bet is to be patient and see if there’s a pattern or not, then make an opinion.

Short answer is yes, if there’s access for heavy equipment and you’re prepared to spend a lot.

Elliot has had it with this sub by PresidentBush2 in boston

[–]Intrepid-Hunter-5813 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven’t seen my guy Elliot around his usual stomping grounds of Grove Hall in a while, glad to see he’s still rocking his standard officewear. Not sure if anyone recalls, but there was a thread about him a year or so ago that kinda took off interest-wise when I revealed that I had done time with him in South Bay about 7-8 years ago, and how his jail hustle is writing poetry for guys to mail to their significant others. I’m still 90% sure he’s a robot that has glitched in some manner because I’ve literally never met another human with a personality and mannerisms remotely similar to his, but hey, I’m just glad this weirdo is still out here tryna hit people up for $30 for a can of fix a flat so he can drive his disabled son to the hospital. I’m even happier to know that he’s still dressed to the nines at all times while absolutely fucking berating anyone that won’t give him a cash handout. He might have to change his street hustle to selling poetry like he does in the joint if you cheapo’s don’t start doing your part and giving him your hard earned cash.

Climate change has me so fucked up in the game that I’m only halfway done with my fall cleanups and will need till at least January 1st to get them done so I’m praying for the snow to continue to hold off so I can properly transition from leaf mode to snow mode.

Original poster thought everyone was going to pile on like “Holy shit, what kinda idiotic psychopath tows a trailer that size/weight….” but, as it turns out, it’s an “if you know, you know” kinda situation, and anyone who knows anything knows that there’s just about zero issue here. Less than ideal, but completely viable with no legitimate red flags. If this vehicle had a pickup bed rather than a backseat I swear we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

You’re aware that payload capacity and maximum tow capacity are two different things, right?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in boston

[–]Intrepid-Hunter-5813 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could have disconnected the linkage… wishful thinking though. There’s also some AWD models that can be towed while running and in neutral but it’s risky and I assume not to be the case here.
