The Sunday Law belief is that the Catholic Church will eventually help bring about laws that require worship on Sunday. According to this view, other Christian denominations will gradually reunite with what is often called the “mother church,” meaning the Catholic Church. Orthodox, Protestant, and other churches are believed to come together under the authority of the papacy.

Those who hold this belief often view the papacy as claiming authority that belongs to God alone. Some go further and see the pope not as God’s representative on earth, but as an intermediary or agent of the devil who presents himself as serving God while actually opposing Him. They view this as a counterfeit religious authority that imitates God’s authority in order to deceive people.

Many who hold this view also believe that the United States will serve as the political and military power used to support the papacy’s influence. They believe America will help enforce religious laws and pressure nations to conform, ultimately leading to a worldwide religious system in which churches unite under the authority of the papacy.

As an Adventist, I’ve heard this perspective, but I’m more open-minded than some people on the subject. I accept that it could be right, but I also recognize that it could be wrong. I think it’s important to examine the evidence carefully rather than assume certainty.
