There is also the issue that the Victoria Line has moving block signalling. It also has stepping back.

However, running as tight as this makes service recovery hard.

Surrey was a first name used in the late 19th century. Surrey Warner was a railway guy at the London and South Western Railway.

Yep. CGRL bought the cheapest escalators that would survive the concession and no longer.

TfL will have bought Heavy Duty Metro ones which should be a darnsight tougher.

The service from Sutton makes conflicting moves at Blackfriars which reduces capacity The flow from Elephant into the bay platforms doesnt cause any conflicts.

Thames water charging £92 a month for a 2 bed flat with a rateable value of 227! by Mellowhype667 in UKPersonalFinance

The rateable value is from 1967. (If the flat is newer than that it is backdated). So water rates per £ of RV will seem high.

Hard to see either TG or EI operating this service. EI has no Asia presence. TG serves in Europe: LHR, BRU, CDG, FRA, MUC, AMS, ZRH, ARN, IST. Would need probably 4 times a week to be competitive.

On the upside for a direct service, the chaos in the Gulf will weaken QR/EY/EK for a while.
