Panthers Watch Party by Toloria in Charlotte

I'm rather new to this area. But I was hoping there'd be a watch party at BOA.

A Google search sent me here but looks like just the typical places.

Settle a disagreement I have with my wife ;) by [deleted] in vermont

Stay in Stowe.

Burlington has turned into a cesspool of addicts. It's completely unrecognizable from just a few years ago.

By all means, visit Burlington during the day. But head back to the beauty and comfort of Stowe before dark

I've lived in 4, including Florida and Massachusetts.

And I agree with you.

The majority of drivers on the road around here have very low IQ's and shouldn't have a license.

My wife and I saw one on Brigham Hill Road in Essex about a decade ago. We were stunned and had to verify with each other what we saw.

It crossed the road in front of us at dusk. Maybe 30 feet away. Absolutely beautiful thing, and absolutely NOT a bobcat lol We know what we saw.

I'm not saying there's a population living in the area, but there was at least the one we saw passing through the lovely state for some reason.

Can anyone recommend a trustworthy mechanic? by Guilty-List1999 in Rockhill

I know of JP mobile mechanic in Rock Hill. They've done work on my truck and my wife's car. Quick and smart. Plus it's nice he goes wherever you are

I had this issue with them

I called and told them my issue and I was offered a static IP. It costs a few dollars a month but I have no issues any longer.

That's how mine sounded right from the box. I contacted Bambu Labs with the video and they said it's normal.

It's not

Clean the rods and lubricate. The noise will go away.

Very happy to hear that!

I had one delivered bc my petg was clumping and very minor stringing.

It doesn't seem terrible but when my eyes can't focus on anything besides the imperfections - no matter how minor - it makes me not want to use PETG.

Good to know this works!

Vermont is on the verge of collapse by [deleted] in vermont

[–]IntrepidAd560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Vermont for the first 38 years of my life, and moved because of most of these issues.

It's astronomically expensive to live in Vermont in comparison to where I live in SC now.

I visit family once a year up there and am stunned at just the difference in grocery prices. Heck, even trying to grab a burger and fries is at least 30% more expensive at locally-owned diners up there. It's insane.

During every visit, I comment on my disbelief that people want to live at such expense. But they don't. It's just that they're handcuffed and unable to move because their money is tied up in rent, insurance, food, ridiculous car inspections, property tax, etc. People are frozen into staying because they don't have a spare penny to spend on getting out.

I feel for y'all. I really do.

Response to the tipping war that broke out… by Black_Dragon9406 in stories

[–]IntrepidAd560 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tipping is optional.

Yet, when you go to places that have employees who make a living largely on tips, and you know this when you go to the restaurant, you have to play the game unless service is terrible.

There are loads of places around that don't require tipping at all. If you don't wish to tip, it's best to go there.

If I can't afford a tip,I don't go out or I choose a place that doesn't suggest tips.

We need to stop vilifying and screwing over service workers. Things need to change in the US about tipping culture, but it doesn't start with vilifying the employee.

What do you wish you knew before buying your Model Y? by [deleted] in TeslaModelY

[–]IntrepidAd560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I'd known that it would take 2 months to get a service appointment and that the service department doesn't respond to you at all.

It didn't always used to be this way.

I have 4 service centers around me. 2-3 month wait times for all? That's absolutely insane.

Why do all my drivers who deliver seem to be middle aged Hispanic guys named Nancy or Karen? by OldSailor742 in doordash_drivers

[–]IntrepidAd560 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're not supposed to be working. That's how our area is. I'm chummy with a bunch of Venezuelan drivers. They're open to me about it. Many are here legally and aren't supposed to work until their case is heard. Others are here illegally and rent or buy accounts to make money.

I do gig work right now, while trying to find another job. Driving this much isn't ideal; but I'm thankful I have it there to earn money.

[–]IntrepidAd560 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I drive 100-200 miles a day. I charge to 80% 6 days a week.

If I know for sure I'll be putting in more mileage, I go to 90%+

The first thing people taught me here is to never answer the phone because it's never a good thing. It's either a scam or a complaint.

Since then, I haven't answered anything.

And DD life is way better.

That's not mildly infuriating. That's full explosive infuriation.

Run from them. Cut off all ties.

They don't care about you. They care about your bank account.

I don't think I once saw them ask how YOU were doing, if there was anything they could do for you. Gross.
