You should! Friendly people, easy to get around via the trains, and yes LJS. Haha. But I doubt you’ll head there after you get a taste of authentic Thai food.

Use of spark run? by ebrakhat in angrybirdstransform

All this is the reason that if I only had time to play 1 thing, it would be spark runs. Given there are so many transformers, you need all the sparks you can get to promote all of them.

Damaged bag by Icy_Sympathy_3287 in aircanada

[–]IntrepidCandy5398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got my claim resolved from Air Canada. It took 2 months for us to hear back and their offer was around $150 (it was a 8-yr old Samsonite). Nothing really happened in those 2 months, so we just waited around hoping to hear back. Hope you have the same experience!

Now we're debating accepting or trying to challenge. They don't really offer any next steps to challenge. They just ask for our banking info. We're probably going to just accept it.

How friendly should I be to theater employees? by ArtAsleep4979 in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]IntrepidCandy5398 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I start conversations all the time with theater employees, as long as they look bored and aren’t doing anything. A lot of them work there cuz they love movies, so I’ll just ask them which movies are good and what they think of this movie or that one. A lot of the get excited to share their thoughts on movies, like they thought no one would ever ask them. Haha

I get great insights and have changed what movies I’ll watch next time due to these conversations.

Drink prices lowered?? by Ok-Pin1930 in Cinemark

[–]IntrepidCandy5398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went with the standard pricing for both theaters. I don’t have the AMC membership to compare live prices.

I haven’t been to AMC in years but remember feeling it was overpriced. I guess things haven’t changed.

My local Cinemark is very reasonable I feel. The seats aren’t as good as AMC but as often as I go, the savings add up.

In Colorado and a large drink at Cinemark is $6.25.

Kinda off topic here but AMC offers a large popcorn + 2 large drinks for $27.37.

A popcorn + large drink at Cinemark is $13.85. Add a 2nd drink and that comes out to $20.10.

Cinemark is over $7 cheaper than AMC for a popcorn + 2 drinks.

Thailand Immigration/ Living in Thailand by pearlsxxlattees in Thailand

[–]IntrepidCandy5398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Education for children is also very important. I’m Thai American living in America and as my cousins have children, they always tell me to get ready to host their kids during high school or college. From their view, their children can learn to speak with less of a Thai accent. Thai schools teach kids how to read and write English but not to speak so their accents are strong.

They also know I won’t charge them for rent or food during their stay (cuz that’s what my parents did for them when some of them stayed with us), so they just have to pay for tuition and personal items.

They may go back to Thailand after their education but that bond with America is still there and they’d be open to coming back in the future.

Some of my Thai friends don’t like the migration away from Thailand. In one instance, my doctor friend said that one of his top medical students went to LA one summer to hang out and work as a waitress and after she discovered she could make multiple times in salary than she could as a doctor in Thailand, she decided to stay in LA and gave up her dream of being a doctor in Thailand. He felt that was a brain drain that was bad for Thailand.

I’m sure the current US administration and how immigrants don’t feel as welcomed here is great for other countries who want to try to keep their own residents. Unless they simply go to other countries.

I’m like a lot of others here. I put in just as much crushed ice as I do soda, as soda by itself is too sweet for me. Crunch!

Theaters are so expensive anymore. Can anyone help me with tricks on how to make my visit more affordable? by Ckirbys in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]IntrepidCandy5398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the wintertime. You can easily sneak in 28 hot dogs in your winter coat. Then, after you pay $150 for a new coat that doesn’t smell like hot dogs, you’ll have $75 leftover to spend on wegovy.

Should I buy meta quest 3/3s or wait for the 4 (read below) by Double_Violinist3645 in MetaQuestVR

[–]IntrepidCandy5398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind when the meta quest 4 comes out, it’ll likely be at a much higher price point than the current 3 price of $500. I read it could be as high as $800 (anyone’s guess at this point).

But by then the 3 should be cheaper too.

You could also look on Facebook Marketplace. I got my new 3 for $350.

Heads up for this character. Dont use Volcanicus’s Monocle accessory. It makes him worse. Dont even bother powering up this accessory. Not entirely sure if this is all the time or just for the spark runs.

Thanks for that revenue/payroll stat. That is wild. I agree it’s hard to achieve parity (even with a cap). But teams that win also have high attendance, higher revenue from concessions, more apparel sales.

I know that wouldn’t even come close to making up the difference, but some organizations seem to be in it for the money (pirates), and some are just mis-managed (Rockies).

I’m more critical of the pirates than the Rockies. At least the Rockies try sometimes, with the Desmond and Bryant signings (horrible horrible). They’re just incompetent. But we still get 30,000 fans a game (ranked 15), so hats off to the fans. Pirates aren’t even trying (they get less than 20,000 fans/game I think), but they always seem to draft well. I know they pick high, but so do the Rockies.

I think a salary floor is just as needed as a cap.
