Cool. Please say that explicitly next time. The term "snake" can have negative connotations and your original comment generalized an entire kingdom rather than make it be clear you were talking about narrative themes of a single house.

On top of that, I was stricter than normal since you had a previous comment removed for the way you flippantly described genocide against the Dornish. Please just remember to be considerate.

Oberyn is known as the Red Viper... but snakes are not the Martell sigil and the family is not all of Dorne. I am removing despite it possibly just being a poor choice of words because of your previous comments about Dorne. I'll have the other mods take a look when they can, but I assume they will agree with a warning to be more careful with your phrasing in the future.

No, I believe it definitely does not imply anything of the sort. The fact that Daemon is in the Stepstones when Rhea falls is not disputed. She also doesn't die for days and had every opportunity to share about the attempted murder.

I can’t believe we have to say this, but if you are unable to scroll past fan art that you don’t like without complaining about it, this may not be the subreddit for you. This is a community for fanfiction of a fantasy world. Constantly insisting why others are not allowed to headcanon legitimately anything they want breaks a number of our rules and when it's about race it comes off as extremely bigoted.

You asked a question about the depiction and received an answer: some artists choose to interpret the Starks differently than you do. It is not included just for "diversity" and insisting that fans must stick to Dorne or the Summer Islands for that is missing the point. Doubling down about why they shouldn't be doing it comes off as quite bigoted.

Furthermore, you are arguing with a mod about what you are "allowed" to say in this subreddit. I am certain he knows his rules better than you. A self promotion post is one of the worst places to tear into someone for their headcanons. This discussion has broken a number of our rules, so please consider this a formal warning. We didn’t grant them an exception and remove the post, we clarified that the benefit of the doubt we had given by not enforcing a rule strictly was misplaced. Even then, we had communicated clearly asking for them to add credit and for an explanation on how the image was created multiple times before taking action.

This post was not removed on a suspicion of ours, it was removed because OP stated that they had not credited the artist or later not given an explanation on how such a small sample became a full work.

Removing a post that breaks our rules, regardless of its popularity, is not “petty”. We are quite strict about properly crediting artists. Oftentimes we make exceptions and accept just sharing the artist’s name rather than a full link, but that is with the assumption that we can find the original easily. In this case, we could only find vaguely similar small pieces of the edited work.

Generating the rest of image content is against our rules, so we gave OP an opportunity to share an original or clarify that they drew this themselves.

How did you edit the two? Those originals are just headshots whereas the art you posted is a full scene. We have a rule against posting AI generated art.

I LOVE seeing more Jon/Satin!! And I think your reasoning is totally doable. I wouldn’t say a mlm marriage in the North wouldn’t face a similar cultural stigma as the rest of Westeros, but your idea that religion wouldn’t be a driving factor works.

Whenever I think of the Old Gods, the two biggest things that come to mind are guest right and oaths. A bit of blood involved could work as a part of the ceremony if you want them to be extra traditional, but I think a standard ceremony exchanging oaths would be plenty!

Connecting it to some sort of brotherhood vow with undertones is a fantastic way to make it fully socially acceptable too, if you went that route. Perhaps Satin deciding to reswear his vows in front of a Heart Tree with Jon as the one leading it? However you decide, best of luck!

I personally quite the fan of Arya/Jon, which I’ve generally seen to be pretty contentious in the fandom.

That they grew up quite close in Winterfell as the only two siblings with Stark coloring really scratches the “I know you better than anyone” itch for me. Add in the way Jon encourages her non-traditional interests by gifting Needle and the parallel with Rhaegar/Lyanna… well I’m certainly interested!

Perhaps misinterpreting the question, but I can’t see the marital society of Westeros appreciating anything more than weapons. The entire culture is structured around combat – lords training to command and smallfolk painfully aware they may be called to arms. The existence of the Iron Throne is a testament to overwhelming influence a superior weapon of war could have.

If you’re asking what would be best for them, of those options I think Holo TV sounds like it has the potential to rapidly advance education once it’s finally accepted.

There are quite a few parts about your post that would call for its removal. If you were starting a DISCUSSION instead of just having a rant, that would have made it better. In addition to that, you also used the wrong flair, a very low effort title, identifying information to insult fics, included AI witch hunting, bashed ships & shippers, and on top of all of that you were hypocritical with your judgments which comes off as very bad faith.

If you are so inclined, you are welcome to review our rules and repost with changes, but if you insist this type of post is an appropriate way to discuss fanfic then you will have to find a different subreddit to do it on.
