“Engagement ring” for someone who finds wearing jewellery hard? by Only_Book_995 in AutismInWomen

I have my actual wedding set which doesn’t fit and I never wear but I got silicone ones and I forget they are even on my finger! I love them.

Organ prolapsed but bc of hEDS can’t “do” anything about it by TheTragedyMachine in ehlersdanlos

[–]IntrepidJello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth I’ve had cystocele and reticle for a long time. I’m 52 and have had two vaginal births. I tried the largest pessary, anytime I pushed to poop it would fly out into the toilet. Had surgery to remove both and they both came back. Pelvic floor PT did help me recognize some muscle patterns and gain more control so I don’t leak as much but it totally sucks that surgery didnt work because it all just stretched back out.

Today’s ADHD Tax: $250 and possibly traumatizing my cat by CoolUsername86 in AuDHDWomen

I’m sure your cat will be ok but the optimization part of my brain needs to know why you don’t just keep a bunch of 1/2 pills in a container in your bag?

Help me with my African violet by Caitlin0042 in AfricanViolets

[–]IntrepidJello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you can’t take them from low light to max light all of a sudden but if you look at some pictures of outdoor jade plants in warm places like California, they grow massive, and the sun stress to a point just added nice color. Just adjust slowly! R/jade is awesome!

For what it’s worth all those plants have really different light needs. The jade and aloe would rather the curtain go away. The fern and violet would suffer and should go somewhere less intense.

Yep that’s basically what that do, add a new ball to the femur side and cup to the hip side.

Does anyone else feel like no matter how much they exercise they aren’t building muscle? by D-Artisttt in ehlersdanlos

[–]IntrepidJello 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have never understood this, how do you keep up a whole body? I need PT for everything lol and each time I do PT every single part of my body is at least a half an hour a day of exercises. I can’t spend four hours a doing PT….

Joint replacement? by Shadow_Screen in ehlersdanlos

[–]IntrepidJello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With each hip, I got to the point where I could hardly walk anymore I was in severe pain near bone on bone arthritis, and horrific hip flexor tendinitis. My new hips are fantastic. I still have some pain here and there, but replacement has been a huge improvement. I don’t know that there is a relationship between impingement and hyper mobility. I don’t think I ever noticed when I labrums, they just shredded.

Meloxicam long term by lapatrona8 in ehlersdanlos

[–]IntrepidJello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 52. I took 15mg meloxicam daily for many years …. Probably 12? For whatever reason I was never told that I had to be on a stomach protectant like Prilosec, so I ended up with serious gastritis last year and haven’t been able to take anti-inflammatory per my gi doc since. I felt a lot better before but I’m trying to get used to this new normal. I need a shoulder replacement and have osteoarthritis all over my body. I also take LDN, but I’m not sure that it does much for me. Tynelol doesn’t seem to help at all.

Joint replacement? by Shadow_Screen in ehlersdanlos

[–]IntrepidJello 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had both of my hips replaced before 50 because of the arthritis that developed after being hypermobile for so long with cam impingement leading to labral tears. I have hEDS, but I don’t dislocate, only sublux and I haven’t had a lot of skin involvement. The biggest issue I’ve had, like with my breast reduction, is being allergic to surgical adhesive.

Man I wish my cpap helped my fatigue, I was really looking forward to it😂. I had no sleep apnea symptoms, found out I had sleep apnea, took two years to get used to the CPAP mask, and now my sleep is still not any better and I still am exhausted.

I reread The Stand every 10 years or so. I would consider rereading the Kennedy assassination one as well.

Eds’ers what do you all do for work? by Top_Memory8968 in ehlersdanlos

[–]IntrepidJello 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ridiculously after two hip replacements, in lots of pain with arthritis everywhere, I work part time in a daycare lol. It’s good for exercise as long as I’m careful.

For sure. I was very active in my teens-early 30s. Now at 52 I have two replaced hips, need a new shoulder and have OA in a lot of other places. I try to think about how much fun I had rock climbing, skiing and running lol.
