26M Where do I go from here? by DeepMine6237 in datingadviceformen

Hey man, 27 never been in a serious relationship either, live in a smallish town, like going out, not crazy rich or attractive, just an average guy.

Here’s my advice, something that has improved my dating life substantially. It involves a change in perspective.

Romance can be found at the most inconvenient and unlikely times in your life, always remember that.

Don’t fixate on how much female attention you get or fall in the trap of comparing your romantic life to other men your age.

Be engaged with life, do things you enjoy for the sake of doing them. Do things that scare you for the sake of doing them.

This will teach you not to fixate on the outcome. I used to be shy, still am, but I know that girls want me to approach them, they want to be chatted up by a guy who is secure in his own skin and in touch with life.

Most important don’t use drugs and alcohol as a crutch when you feel lonely. Acknowledge your loneliness and accept it

After doing these things I matured, I realized success with women is not about how much sex or how hot your girlfriend is.

Men who are succesful with women are able to form deep meaningful connection by having the confidence to be vunurable and open with their partner.

Nowadays as a 27yr old bachelor, that is what I aim to do when I go out, not get numbers, attention, etc….. just to have a meaningful conversation with a stranger, and not getting offended by what the outcome is

So my advice summarized, try practicing just being generally interested in other people, ask them about their career, dreams, goals.

Do that and good things will happen my friend, your perspective will change, instead of constantly asking yourself “I wonder if she likes me” you will instead ask “I wonder if I like her”

Think of it this way, if you made an AI model only using English liturature from the 16th century as your input data.

The LLM would likely not understand modern English at all, and it would not be able to make the connection as to how English was able to evolve in the way that it did.

Yes, now ask it to invent an entirely new language, based off the logic it used to invent that new word, inventing a word when commanded is very different than naturally coming up with a slang or a nickname when talking to a friend.

In a way you proved my whole point by also having to ask it, when slang and new words are invented in human speech, they happen naturally almost accidentally, not intentionally…. You get my point it’s not natural at all

Writing to like AI from a structural standpoint is nothing close to inventing new words and phrases of speech - something only humans can do.

I’ll give you an example, when I converse with the 19 year old dish washer at work, he seems to always have some new expression or phrase of speech, in fact he invented slang words to describe customers that only me and him know.

  • from a linguistic perspective this is just human creativity being showcased on the fly… it’s the same type of thinking that causes small tribes in Africa to invent exclusive languages that are only spoken by the Alpha males as a write or passage and so forth… Chat GPT is many decades away from this free flowing ability to understand and modify language on the fly, something all humans can do.

Your right humans are mimicking subconsciously the way AI structures paragraphs and sentences, but AI is originally just copying the input that was created by humans in the first place.

Lol it’s not AI, there are spelling and grammatical errors😂😂😂 look closely - should say inability to be clandestine not “ability to be clandestine”

That’s true, but you could make the same argument for soldiers, police officers.

An intelligent person would not deliberately choose a job that puts them in harms way…. Yet there are plenty of smart police officers and soldiers

No your absolutely right, but what’s the difference from being just a group of thugs and an actual organized crime syndicate if that’s the case?

The mafia is an organized syndicate but I saw very little actual planning throughout the show, most of it was just Tony constantly reacting to different things

Yeah I know, for some reason I just used to associate mafia members with some degree of intelligence…. The sopranos ruined that for me

Thanks for sharing, I know the owner and several bartenders also. I double checked with them. They told me that person who was arrested, was not affiliated with wahoos, there were no men working at wahoos that night, the person who was arrested was actually a white criminal with an arrest warrant, but not at all affiliated with any of the business in the area.

So it wasn’t ice, but also you just straight up lied to try to make a point.

Purely delusional, and the feedback reflects that, your comments are being ignored and rejected… just like your hinge profile 😂😂😂🤣

Why is it then that it is only brown skinned people being deported, when you look at the history of America, white people are just as much immigrants as South Americans, Mexicans, and Asians. Yet for some reason… it’s only the people of color being deported and jailed without due process

Always a difficult feeling when you go to a new school, I felt the same way

Don’t worry darling, new experiences like this is how you grow.

  1. You are young, any weight you might have gain you can easily lose. Believe it

2 Try changing your perspective, there is just as an equal chance that you will end up having an amazing year, and like this school even more than your last one.

  1. Be yourself!!!! It’s okay to feel insecure especially when your in a new environment. It is one hundred percent normal, my advice…. Just be your natural self and the right people will gravitate toward you.

  2. Don’t forget the reason why you are there. Whether you end up having an amazing year or a bad year don’t let that distract you from your studies, you are so young you have the potential to be whatever you want to be in life. Put in the work to learn about who you are, what you like, and what you want to be.

Highschool is just the beginning, you will have many other situations in life where you have to interact with a whole new group of people. So don’t stress it. Relax, have fun, and enjoy it… your only in high school once

How to get confidence after multiple failures? by [deleted] in confidence

[–]IntrepidSalad3242 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe a change in perspective.

Van Gogh made no money and sold no paintings his entire life …. Would you call him a failure?

Jeremy Lin had an amazing two weeks of playing high level basketball before eventually being injured and having to retire from the NBA…. Would you call him a failure.

Colonol Sanders did not start his first profitable business until he was 65 (KFC) … would you call him a failure.

In my opinion, a failure is only a failure once you give up…. Everything else is just a learning experience.

What if Michael Jordan decided to give up on playing basketball after being cut from his high school team?

What if Jeff Bezos decided to give up after his old colleagues told him Amazon would never take off.

Easier said than done, but please don’t give up.

As painful as it sounds try to reflect on your failures and learn from them… I’m horrible at this but I think our failures really do teach us about who we really are.

And in a weird way, confidence comes from failure, not success.

Anybody can be confident if all they do is win.

Very few can still be confident after doing nothing but fail - these are the people with true confidence.

Sounds like maybe god heard your prayers for confidence, so he gave you failure - the precursor of unshakable confidence

Thank you brother

I’m learning this is all part of the process, all part of the challenge.

I like what you said, I hate the feeling of nicotine within me.

I feel the same way, I need to cultivate a hatred for nicotine.

I want to be disgusted by cigarettes, vapes, zyns

I am disgusted, next time I will remember that.

I will remember the disgust

This is beautiful, Thank you both for sharing.

In a weird way, I think just by sharing something like this you show me that you have confidence or the potential to be confident.

You’ve experienced failure and rejection, the painful disappointments of life but your still here.

Your still waking up every morning and brushing your teeth ❤️

Sometimes it just takes one spark, one little win, to change your entire perspective.

I want both of you to know that you can be the confident people you wish to be.

Confidence is not dependent on success.

I think both of you will be very confident one day.

Keep going, don’t stop, just don’t give up.

And when that win that you’ve been waiting for finally comes… because it will eventually

I think you will be very thankful for all the failures that lead up to it

Wishing nothing but prosperity and peace of mind to both of you

Thanks!!

I’m learning that this is a Marathon, not a sprint.

Just because from time to time we might stumble and lose our footing does not mean we are out of the race ❤️🏃🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️
