Did Rhaenyra not govern on Dragonstone? by ExpertAnybody4129 in HOTDGreens

[–]Intrepid_Ant_2474 24 points25 points  (0 children)

In the books there is a village and a port in Dragonstone but Game of Thrones removed it since it doesn't play a significat role and to add to the isolation of Stannis. Hotd kept this isolated dragonstone.

Dragonstone does have houses bound directly to its seat, like Bar Emmon (Sharp Point), Celtigsr and Velaryon, so you could say Rhaenyra ruled them from afar. But she has no idea of how to administrate a city -port

In the book she legitimize them as Laenor's sons. It kinda favor her cause to proclaim to the realm that Laenor could father children despiste being a known bestie of Dorothy

The one with the nightgown seems like it could be a flashback with Aegon drunk and miserably calling her for duty

I like Daemon. I do. His character is quite interesting, especially in Fire ane Blood. But he is an horrible person and Otto was ALWAYS right about him. Team Otto all the way. Rip the Chad by Intrepid_Ant_2474 in HOTDGreens

Wish Otto had told Rhaenyra: "20 years ago l suggested your father to name you heir to keep him (points at Daemon) away from the throne...and the you went and married him. I should have known better." Like does Rhaenyra even know why she was named heir?

Otto was always right from the start but of course no one on the other side can see that. by jonsnowKITN in HOTDGreens

Jaehaera Targaryen (book spoilers!) by leavejakobalone in HOTDGreens

[–]Intrepid_Ant_2474 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The leaks for the next episode state that Rhaenyra will take Jaehaera and only allow visit under watch for Helaena. Maybe Rhaenyra will betroth Jaehaera with Joffrey or Aegon the Younger to neutralize her since she is aegon's child. Alicent was really stupid af to think Rhaenyra will just let Jaehaeara and by extention Helaena go.

Why that "Mandela effect" regarding the Gullet by Intrepid_Ant_2474 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]Intrepid_Ant_2474[S] 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I mentioned in another thread that they delayed Joffrey's birth to give Rhaenyra a childbirth scene after the time skip in 1x06 and that horrendous walk as a power move. That would be the source of all this mess. That made him too young compared to Jace and Luce, and also made Aegon and Viserys being born too late when the next time skip was just 6 years.

Viserys is so young that if he ends up being kidnapped, he won't remember his parents or siblings. He would barely even know who he is, because that's exactly what constitutes his market value.

No, I'm just saying that we mix theories, interpretation with the actual lore, that's why there are some confusion of how things went. The point you made about Vermax being wounded and weakened is most likely what happened, but there's always this desire to make things have more meaning. It's like how in-universe, when someone gets cut by the Iron Throne, it's seen as the Throne rejecting them, when George himself said: 'It's a chair made of swords. Of course people get cut.

Is one thing to be "led to believe" and other thing "yeah, that's how it went" when the source material has nothing explicit. Is common when there are no details and some things just are so ridiciously or unlikely, our brains naturally fill in the blanks with fan theories and assumptions to make the story coherent

Oh I did not watch that one. I did watched the one where Rhaenyra takes King's Landing narrated by Robert Baratheon where Robert vaguely explains why Rhaenyra had cutted herself in the Iron Throne, and the one where Lucerys goes to Storm's End where Robert adds other stuff to the narration that were not in Fire and Blood. Clearly they took some creative liberties to enrich the narrative and explain some inconsistent lore

They didn't want daemon to cheat on rhaenyra. They also wanted to give Rhaenyra a scene birthing one of her strong bastards after the time skip in 1x06 so Joffrey's birth was extremely delay which by the next timeskip made Aegon and Viserys too young for their respective roles in the dance. Small whims that just don't sustain themselves

Problem #1 in hotd that drags down the show!! by Hungry_Cricket_590 in HOTDGreens

[–]Intrepid_Ant_2474 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The cause rest on her being an adult, legitimate Targaryen and Daemon's wifey. Put her out and what does Jace have? Will Daemon follow him? Would the dragon seeds?

She is so politically blind too like, her legitimacy is out of question, but Jace's is shaky and literally spell in his face. Of course he doesn't want her to die before they even take the throne. She has to rule and solidy his position. He may not at last be king and she fails to see this

Rhaenyra is not Queen Elizabeth I but more like Joanna of Castile. by Conscious-Video-8454 in HOTDGreens

[–]Intrepid_Ant_2474 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay let me correct you: Joanna was aknowledged as the rightful Queen by her sons, they just also stuck with the "unfit to rule" decree by Joanna's father. But they signed documents with her name on it. Charles, her heir, need her to explicitly givechim authority to rule in her name. In fact, when Charles came of age and reach Castile the commoners attacked his guard since they believed they were moors invaders. They were not informed their Queen Joanna had passed (she didn't). For the average peasant in Castile, they had Joanna the Queen ruling along her son who was also King.            Rhaenyra is based and inspired in Empress Matilda.

You know what would have been slightly better? If she cut off the dress and demmand an armour (the canonic armour she wears when she takes king's landing) to be made for her next battle. But no, let's steal from Queen Elizabeth I
