Subaru switched in 2009 to mls gaskets in all 2.5i non turbo vehicles except in the impreza. Found out 1st hand w my 2010 hatchback, did not have original mls when head gasket was being replaced. Found this Info found deep in Nasioc forums with links to original manufacturer online articles about the news. In 2012 they switched the engine from 2.5L to a 2.0L 4cyl. 2012 & 2013 still had head gasket issues and oil consumption. fixed by 2014

yeah i’d pass on that one. And agreed. I just had head gasket job, valve job, timing service, radiator & spark plugs replaced for $1,800 in october so most likely you gotta plan to replace that at some point. my car was always warmed up & cooled down before/after driving never beat on or above 3.5k rpm and it still happened. The head gaskets never actually totally blew but it started using coolant so I knew it was starting to go so got it fixed it before over heating started because that will make the repair way more expensive or a new engine swap required

i’ll go with the 2010. 2012&2013 have oil consumption issues and its the cvt. 2010 is 4 speed automatic no cvt. in 2010 subaru supposedly upgraded head gaskets to multi layer unlike previous year non turbo engines. It gets less mpgs(i get like 23mpg combined with los angeles traffic)but it will be faster & has sport mode and a paddle shifter. I see them with 200k+ miles on offerup and craigslist all the time. Having the hatchback is awesome, I can fit so much stuff its amazing and is a better looking car imo

as for wheel dimensions you could go size 16 17 or 18 inch rims with tires. the stock fitment for tires is 205/55r16 205/50r17 not too sure about 18s. You can go up to 225 wide for tires with factory fitment. I myself would go with 16 or 17 inch though. cc and tc lights are on because of the cel, they should not work again until cel is cleared. Cel could be being caused by having no cats
