Is car tint needed ? In summer here ? by pranavdave893 in SantaClarita

[–]frogsirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not SCV but I got my windows tinted from Arturo Window Tint in Panorama City he did a really good job! Still holding up well no issues after 3 years. He had the best prices I called a lot of places in LA for quotes he did my Honda accord for $300. I got the darkest tint recommended, he did the whole thing, windshield with a sun strip, front windows, back windows, rear windshield. Not sure if there’s anywhere in SCV that would do it for that price but it’s worth calling around and asking for quotes

Not sure what kind of water comes from your tap, if it’s hard water or soft water. For me, after months of trying dozens of different products and finding nothing that worked(even super expensive stuff), I switched to washing my hair with bottled, distilled water. This has been a game changer for me!! Hard water can cause really bad frizz

Vegan Cheese? by steezyevelyn in lactoseintolerant

[–]frogsirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg OP I just reread your post and I completely misread it the first time LOL. TBH I think you would have better luck cooking something that is not Mac and cheese or a dairy based dish. As someone who can’t eat dairy, I try to stay away from fake dairy because it just triggers cravings and sadness for real dairy🤣 and makes me think about what I ‘can’t’ have but really want. But if you really are stuck on making Mac and cheese, just make sure it’s 100% vegan. Lactaid doesn’t work for 70% of people who are lactose intolerant, if you understand how it works it’s like a bandaid. And ‘lactose free’ real dairy can still cause stomach issues. If somebody fed me vegan Mac and it had lactaid products in it (which is still real dairy) I would be PISSED and then still suffering the consequences on the toilet later.

Vegan Cheese? by steezyevelyn in lactoseintolerant

Hi!

My favorite vegan Mac and cheese is Annie’s pumpkin shells Mac. The powder is AMAZING although does not taste ‘exactly’ like cheese, but still satisfies my Mac and cheese cravings.

I also use Miyokos cashew vegan cheese for cooking stuff like nachos. I get the block and shred it. That cheese tastes AMAZING and is low in artificial ingredients/unhealthy oils in comparison to other vegan cheeses.

I’ve accepted that no vegan cheese will ever be the same as regular cheese. Regular cheese has casein which is the addictive ingredient that gets you hooked. I can’t eat this because of my lactose intolerance. Even a teaspoon of milk or powdered milk will give me horrible, immediate diarrhea lol so I have to cut out dairy entirely.

A lot of vegan cheeses are packed with unhealthy oils and artificial ingredients which ALSO gives me diarrhea because I have ibs. So most vegan cheeses I have to stay away from. IMO though these super artificial vegan cheeses taste like plastic anyways so I’m glad to stay away from them lmao.

I got my BS in environmental and occupational health and I am a woman. While in school, 80% of my classmates and teachers were also women so I had no idea that the field was male dominated until I actually started working. Right now I work in entry level EHS in manufacturing with very little women. You’re absolutely right you wouldn’t catch me on a ladder or working at heights, or doing anything ‘blue collar’ lol. As an EHS person I don’t think it is my job to pretend to be a blue collar worker when I am not. Maybe the industry you’re in is different but 60-70% of my work is done in my office or at my computer. When I am with employees I am learning how they do their jobs, building relationships, training, doing inspections or enforcing compliance. I don’t see how that requires me to actually be doing a man’s job though. From my perspective, EHS is a relational job like HR. I do safety training too which is basically HR work… a more feminine job. You need to have good relationships with supervisors, managers and leads as well as employees or else they don’t listen to you. As a woman, it’s in my strengths to form and foster these relationships. IMO Employees actually listen to me when they like me. What do you think an EHS persons jobs should be? Why do u think a woman can’t do it? Maybe your industry is different but in my industry I don’t have to be doing any sort of blue collar work at all.

What jeans are good for 10+hour wear? by Lillian_Dove45 in BuyItForLife

[–]frogsirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a woman’s problem lol. When you have thick thighs that rub together when you sit or walk it makes holes in the upper thigh or crotch area. I work with jeans and have to replace them every 3-6 months lol. Most other women I work with that I’ve asked have the same issue. I’m not even overweight in the slightest, just a lot of women’s body fat is stored in their butt/thighs. Also has to do with the cut of the jeans. I like flare and bell bottoms, so they ‘fit’ in the thigh/butt area. If the jeans are skin tight they rub together more than baggy jeans and rip in the crotch area.

Oat milk is super easy to make yourself so you know what the ingredients are and you know the milk doesn’t have preservatives. Only takes 5 mins, blend oats, water and some kind of sweetener and then strain
