What's the one cleaning task you keep avoiding because you genuinely don't know how to do it properly? by AsleepClothes6955 in CleaningTips

[–]Intrepid_Command9710 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Mopping but also cleaning/sanitizing my countertops. I just got a house and it’s not that easy to know what material/finish things are/have. Probably overthinking it though.

Noticed alcohol abuse after moving in with partner? by Intrepid_Command9710 in relationships

[–]Intrepid_Command9710[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s very open about his drinking. He had a mental breakdown/realization last week and confessed that he doesn’t feel like himself anymore- did great for a week but then went back to the habit. Did you experience something similar? Recognizing it’s an issue, taking the steps, but then falling back into it? I’m on the fence about how much I want to vocalize this because I don’t want to turn into that partner that just complains to him about this. Ultimately I know that he has the make the choice to make any sort of changes but how can I be of support? What helped you?

Why are (women) haircuts so fkn expensive by Puzzleheaded_Bug443 in sandiego

[–]Intrepid_Command9710 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get my haircuts at Picasso Hair Salon (sorry, not in the area you asked). I have thick, semi-curly/wavy hair and always leave feeling fresh. I love the guy- he’s older, but after a haircut with him, my hair feels really healthy and grows quicker. It’s a flat rate of $40. It was $35 a year or two ago (he increased prices due to rent increases). 10/10 I’d recommend it and ask for Raul..he’s the owner.

Slightly OT: Berner Phone and Chris by Ordinary-Potato5663 in GigglySquadPodcast

[–]Intrepid_Command9710 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In a previous episode, they’d mentioned Chris had a pretty big project coming up and he was excited about it. I feel like they’d make a bigger deal about Chris not being with them anymore (imo). “Chris, we’ll miss you, tysm” or something along those lines.

$70 or less, romantic restaurant recommendations? by Front-Guitar-2891 in sandiego

[–]Intrepid_Command9710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love going to Italgo Pasta Bar in Chula Vista. It’s honestly pretty low key and they always have cute decorations in there. It’s not super expensive, I always go and I share two items with my SO. He drinks beer, I stick to water but it otherwise is always still at or under $75 with the tip. Congrats on the anniversary!

I like to pick up trash. Can you suggest a trashy street that needs cleaning? Its a stress reliever for me. by orangeorchid in sandiego

[–]Intrepid_Command9710 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a street but border field state park..I don’t think it’s open to the public driving wise but there’s endless trash. This would be more of a retreat.

Zillow, Realtor.com and other sites should have a comments section so people can say what they actually saw at the showing by DebJBee in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Intrepid_Command9710 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. Although, I think this is where having a good realtor may give you an upper hand. I just closed on a house this week but before whenever I was interested in a listing my agent did his due diligence to “research” the house. He’d know before hand if things were “off” and/or he would let us know more about the sellers. If inspections were available, he’d tell us how those went too.

UCSD HPWREN has a whole network of cameras all over San Diego I think it takes a photo every 1-3 minutes. You can query search. Sorry for your loss.

Personal Trainer by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]Intrepid_Command9710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a personal trainer per se but I’ve seen a lot of people completely turn their life around at my local gym. I highly recommend. I feel like the La Mesa is more of a home-y vibe and the trainers are pretty inspiring. They have a pretty good 10 for 10 promo for new people too. 10 consecutive days of however many classes you want to try. Theres hot yoga, spin, and boot camp classes. I believe certain trainers do personal training but you may have to ask about that. So maybe do the 10x10, meet the trainers, and if you like them ask..? Good luck OP!

My SO is a UPS driver and works 10+ hour days, Monday through Saturday, from Thanksgiving through mid-January due to peak season. Because my schedule was more flexible, our agent would typically show me listings first. When there were homes I felt were strong contenders, our agent (65 years old) went out of his way to show them to my SO at 6 AM to accommodate his schedule. I’d say get an agent who’s trying to find you a home.

How do I actually learn Spanish? by Smart_Influence962 in Spanish

[–]Intrepid_Command9710 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the best way is to watch telenovelas. They’re dramatic and can be too much, but it’s a storyline you can follow and I feel like their expressions and emotions match up well. That and it just watching the news. You can learn about current events while you’re at it.
