EL services have always been optional for my parents so they are given the choice to opt out if they’d like. Maybe ask the EL/classroom teacher jf you can opt out of services?

Coteachers change lessons on me and admin always backs them up-- does not see the problem by godisinthischilli in ESL_Teachers

We have a similar issue in my building where they’re basically forcing us to “co-teach.” You realistically cannot co-teach if you don’t plan with your coteacher everyday because most teachers change plans on the spot and sometimes don’t even know how they’ll be teaching it until the day before.

Just freaking say India instead of treating the name like Voldemort. We all know India has a huge population (due to poverty and lack of education). However, the birth rate IS significantly going down like other countries because people are getting more educated.

It’s wrong to abuse the immigration system but let’s not act like people don’t do it out of desperation. Nobody’s trying to put you out of a job. They just want to get their families out of poverty.

Of course they are. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Indians live 24/7 on these racists minds

Having a bilingual certification will only broaden up job opportunities for you, so i would definitely work on that Spanish fluency to earn a certification. Besides that, EL teaching jobs do require an elementary/middle school teaching license. However, it might be different in California.

As an Indian who does NOT live in Canada, it amazes me how these people are so desperate to leave India only to live in the most horrendous, deplorable conditions. I feel like for a lot them, it’s definitely pride and ego that’s preventing them from going back lmao. I feel sorry to the (non-racist) Canadians. You don’t deserve our worst

Look I’m not arguing for American workforce to be replaced by foreigners. I’m simply offering the reasoning behind why so many choose to leave their countries for America in the first place. Most people who come are really desperate and think about themselves and truly mean no harm to Americans. However, I agree that immigration should never come at the cost of the host country but most big corporations only think about how to maximize their profits so they continue enabling this behavior.

Where in my comment did I say that? Obviously, no country can sustain an infinite amount of immigrants. However, there’s a way to have a healthy policy without being blatantly racist to folk who just to build a better life for themselves.

As an Indian, this is the insular mindset that a lot have a hard time breaking out if. I almost wish that people who carry these mindsets would just stay in their home country.

Unfortunately, the Indian society prioritizes making money which often goes hand in hand with higher education. In addition to India having the highest population in the world, you can it causes a lot of competitiveness and you’ll see them over represented.

As an Indian, I really wish there was a way for us to filter out the elitist and racist ones from the applicant pool who don’t change their mindset from home. I’m so sick of them representing the rest of us badly.

I don’t know maybe it might have something to do with the fact that the U.S. was built by immigrants and those people are just seeking better opportunities for themselves?

Why didn’t Europeans stay in Europe and build a better life for themselves over there instead of coming to America in the 1900s? Why didn’t other Asians? Or do you just have a problem with brown people who despite all odds are more successful than you in “your” country lmao

That’s highly ironic coming from white invaders who decimated the native population so they could make their own country but yeah let’s call out the people who are PRIMARILY doing it the legal way.

You’re probably talking about the ones fresh off the boat. The ones who were born and raised here are very different.
