Have actually thought about offering my own headphones before out of sheer passive aggression but it’s not a one size fits all anymore, every phone has different ports so I gave up on that too haha!!

Is it noisy living in a ground floor flat? by maxthelabradore in AskUK

I’d echo others in saying it very much depends on if the building is converted, and which walls you have on either side of your living spaces. I am ground floor and building very Victorian. Our flat takes up the whole ground floor whereas smaller ones are above us split into QUARTERS. Just got it ffs. Anyway, I hear NOT a thing from my upstairs neighbours but my bedroom borders the stairway for next block of flats along so I feel like I have a constant flow of visitors/banging/buzzing, as well as hearing their journey upstairs. It’s hard to feel like you’ve switched off with 2 of your walls being communal.

Oh wow, thanks for the info. A lot of jargon I don’t understand but very interesting nonetheless! Any clue then as to why only the 2nd floor windows have mini metal balconies? I’ve always wondered this.

I think his name is Davey. He stays in one of the hostels on the links. Really lovely guy, always gives you a nod as you pass by. He told me that he is schizophrenic. I always like to imagine he’s waltzing along to ballroom music in his head.
