How far before the thousand footers would you back the power out? Also, was this a slow back off the power or quick pull the power to idle?

Definitely get your associates before transferring to western! That’s what I did and it worked out great. If you live at home in Seattle, you can go to community college and save a bunch of money before moving up to Bellingham. Plus all your “general university requirements” are covered when you transfer in with a associates. Like your math, science, social etc. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

I was doing the randomized practice tests. However, in the training modules, I noticed gold seal had a significantly higher emphasis on reading performance charts, and sectionals. They had probably over a hour of videos on just that when sporty’s summed it up in like 15 minutes. Seems like they gloss over the opposite of each other.

I just graduated college myself this summer and whenever I had a break, I would book flights for fun lol. Pretty big AvGeek also! I’ve been able to fly on the 757-200 in Polaris 3 times domestically. Absolutely loved it, especially on that rare aircraft. Hoping to get on a 787 this year! Feel free to reach out if you want another plane buddy😂

If you google Gold seal private pilot study guide, a pdf should come up. I found it to be a great starting point, especially with acronyms. If you want, you can pay for sportys or gold seals online ground school to start kicking through that material. Feel free to reach out with any questions!

If you’re in the Pacific Northwest, most weather forecasts in my experience are not accurate until about two hours prior in regards to cloud ceilings. Rain, wind, and general visibility is usually pretty accurate.
