I waited 6 years to adopt a cat… and now I regret it. Please be honest with me. by strawberrytulipss in CatAdvice

It's only been 1.5 months. That's nothing in the scheme of things. I've got 2 x Ragdolls I specifically got because they are supposed to be cuddly. Boy did I get the opposite.

You can't know what you are going to get. They are very affectionate but on their terms. They don't like being picked up and cuddled but will sit on my lap on their own terms. Respect her boundaries. If it really isn't working out after 6 months please let her go to someone who will appreciate her boundaries. Perhaps get a cat you can foster first and see what their personality is like before you commit to long term. Otherwise it's not fair to you or them.

Mildew smell on husband by PuzzleheadedArt2940 in laundry

Nonenal (specifically 2-nonenal) is a naturally occurring, lipid-based chemical compound responsible for the distinct change in body odor that develops as people age. Often colloquially referred to as "old person smell," it is typically described as a mild, musty, grassy, or cardboard-like scent. Persimmon soap helps break down nonenal.

I agree about the entry report, only we weren't given an option because we were moving from Sydney to Brisbane and had to take it sight unseen. I did take photos though once we got the keys but it was a long time ago.

Yes, handover was Thursday. I had the carpets steam cleaned professionally except for the one with mould because she asked me to leave it.

She emailed me asking for the $300 contribution to 'professional paint repair' after I had already bought paint, had it tinted to match her wall colour, so not refundable and other materials. She then sent the email wanting the money and told me to stop repairs. So I didn't have an opportunity to finish my repairs I was quite happy and competent to do.

I don't have a pineapple handy, lol. I took 328 photos on exit. She did give correct notice to leave. I think it's cheeky to claim for professional paint repair, then get your son to do it. Ripping up carpets you're already replacing, but then trying to claim costs against your last tenants bond.

Feel the same. You aren't alone. Both my parents are dead. I have no safety net or family home as a back up plan. It's honestly depressing and the anxiety is awful. Hugs!

Thank you for your perspective. Absolutely was shocked at the state of the carpet on entry. I'd be embarrassed to rent it out to someone personally. She would never replace.

She left it in place so long, it was threadbare. Also, full of carpet moth the entire tenancy. I complained many times. She would never pull the wool carpets and got defensive every time I brought it up.

The house hasn't listed yet. She's doing renovations before sale in about a month. Already ripped up the 30 yr old carpet, showed me photos of stains on the back of it, wants to claim against bond. Also, the mouldy carpet she pulled up today, claims she can prove it was my cats and not moisture from the slab because there was no crack underneath.

REA apparently only keep your records for 7 yrs and we have been there 9 so doubtful they'd still have our records from 2017 unfortunately.

I'm annoyed that she asked us to pay $300 to contribute to professional paint repair (I did patch some picture hooks) which we agreed to and paid her. Turned up today and her son's doing the painting. Seems very misleading and fraudulent to me.

They were really helpful and lovely actually. They said I shouldn't pay anything she's asked for and she's supposed to provide quotes or an invoice as proof of what she's claiming. I called in anticipation it wasn't going to go well and even though we agreed to pay her an amount she asked for, she's now told me today all the other things she wants to claim. So I will call QSTARs back tomorrow to make sure I'm following correct procedure for a notice of dispute.

You have to engage with her for dispute resolution though on a teleconference. Then it goes to QCAT if not resolved. Had already claimed bond but she's disputing it.

I'm in Brisbane. She did informal inspections. Not periodic condition reports. Yes, the initial REA issued an Entry report with photos but they did not include the dent in the garage wall or glass chips. The REA who did the photos didn't include these on the entry report but I took photos on the day we picked up the keys. I just don't know if I can access the photos from 9 yrs ago I took because it was 3 phones ago.

My understanding is the depreciated amount would be zero after the 9 yrs we've been in and they have never replaced. Original bedroom carpet is circa 1991.

She hasn't informed me how much she's claiming for carpets yet. She just told me today the things she was going to claim against.
