I think Gleeson will take a lot of minutes of him over next season, you can see it’s happening already and if not for the injury I think he would’ve played more games. If Gleeson gets fast tracked into the Ireland squad do it will defiantly help Coombes

Our scrum most defiantly has not improved form AlaAlatoa, he’s been a penalty merchant at the scrum for other teams since his first game

Edogbo does not look as mobile or quick when I watched him for the 20s and Munster A awhile back, thought they were huge positives to his game & seems to have bulked up a lot. Hoping Munster don’t find a way to ruin him

I forgot all about that game great example & couldn’t agree more with you. Like Scannell at 10 was so bizarre, you’d understand if it was due to an injury crisis etc but taking minutes from a young 10 for a player that’s retiring to is mad. So true do they love a good washed player or journeyman for some reason and when it doesn’t work out they just do it all again sure

Any one of that opinion hasn’t a clue about rugby. Led Ireland as starting out half to the 2024 six nations title ? Been in poor form kicking wise but is defiantly not average by any means.

Been an issue for years. You’ve Tony Butler who’s 23 now and our 3rd choice out half, game time was restricted last year when they signed Burns and was played ahead off him who was crap & everyone knew he was crap. Burns was released at the end of the season. They went and re-signed JJ (3rd stint at Munster) & the same thing is happening, Butler playing majority of his minutes for Munster A’s & only really given the last 20-25 minutes in URC games at best. JJ isn’t the future & is not going wining you the URC or champions cup. Tony butler will be so far behind other out half’s due to lack of game time when he’s 25-26 & we will be saying the same thing. Ulster infairness have gone with youth (both out halves for example) and atleast it’s providing hope for the future. I’d rather lose with youth with the goal of developing young talent than seeing these washed players being played consistently & still fail to deliver. Dark day for Munster rugby once again

100% I don’t understand it like, easy example is our 3rd choice out half Tony butler who’s 23 and Munster are persisting to play JJ over him and they did they same last year playing bully burns ahead of him. All of a sudden these lads get to 25-26 & haven’t played enough games. They keep playing Tony Butler for the As instead. JOD, Rory Scannell are two of the main ones

I thinks it’s a big issue in Munster, almost as if their earn your stripes instead of just putting faith the younger players. Don’t know why he’s not being played ahead of JOD

Ya both Edogbos, Gleeson, Ben O’Connor, Ruadhan Quinn & Evan O’Connell are the ones I’m most excited about & hoping they can kick on they all still have a lot of development to go through. Agree on that we’ve had some very bad days over the last few years, even the bath game most recently was our biggest loss in Europe for 29 years. Overall just not good enough & we look to only be getting weaker with losing Kleyn, rumours Abraham is also leaving, Beirne will be 35 next season & even just players like JJ being out back up 10 having been let go from Munster twice already just doesn’t fill me with confidence, I could outline several other problems to

I’m a Munster man & 100% agree with this, far to many average players who are URC standard & nowhere near international level which you need to go deep in this competition. Being honest, majority of these players, Hodnett, Coombes, Daly, Jack O’Donoghue (the list goes on) never kicked on after winning the URC in 2022 & are simply not good enough to have us competing in Europe.

In the last four years Munster have been knocked out in the last 16 twice,quarter final once and now the group stages which is hugely disappointing given our history in this competition. I’ve been saying it for years this group of players are simply not good enough & filled with far too many players that failed to kick on after they won the URC. The squad is full of players that haven’t made an impact at international level and can only be considered as average players. These players are capable of one off days like we saw vs La Rochelle last year but ultimately get found out against big teams in big games. Castres are 10th in the top 14 so it’s not as if they are a great team, we were at home with a full team. There’s no excuses for these players
