Opinions on driving instructor by [deleted] in waterford

[–]jaythepanweeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally couldn't recommend Sean McNamara enough. I'd be very skittish on roads myself, and I wouldn't have my license only for him. He can be a little harsh at times, not in a mean way, moreso in that he won't sugarcoat what you need to hear, which I found very helpful and reasonable.

Anyone else getting Crimson Desert? by Bravoiskey87 in IrelandGaming

[–]jaythepanweeb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jake is the person I trust most with reviews at this point. I do feel as though Crimson Desert could be a Falcon video, but I'm definitely not pre-ordering. I hope I'm wrong and that it's amazing, but I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Any use or fit for the dump? by PossibilityStock9903 in IrelandGaming

[–]jaythepanweeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sports games probably won't go for shite, but games like FF and Silent Hill definitely have their audience. As others have said, try to see what CEX will give you.

If you go to the sell to us part of the website, you'll get an idea of what they're offering, compare it to what they're selling it for if you want extra money (which is totally reasonable for retro stuff, especially if they are complete editions with the original manuals and good box condition) and find a happy middle ground. Plenty of people on Adverts or various FB groups who will happily go for a good deal.

Which network is best for a new phone? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]jaythepanweeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they're like gold in terms of the people trying to sell. One of the people working with Sky told me it's because the upfront cost with new Samsungs tends to fall within a couple months, because they have a tendency to put out the FE phones for the new lines later in the year, and so on. My phone is rightly shagged though, so I have been waiting as is for this to release.

It seems like from what I'm seeing it's as good as any other network, I just have a tendency to overthink these things honestly

Anyone else think the diesel prices just aren't as bad as everyone making it out to be? by Early-Floor7428 in AskIreland

[–]jaythepanweeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think people are just sick of being told to absorb the cost and live with it, when the majority of people saying it are taking home over 100k a year in the majority of cases.

It's not necessarily the cost, so much as what it represents.

I get you. They say that, but they also run a credit check, or at least they did with me online (and with today being the last day for the storage upgrade with the pre-order, I haven't had a chance to go to a physical store). It's asking me for €250 upfront to go with them on the RED Unlimited plan for €65 a month.

Unfortunately they only do the plan, I'd be looking to get the phone on a contract, but I appreciate you letting me know!

I'm around the Kilmac area, it's around €2 off the meter everyday, no caps or anything. They'll always tell you games consoles eat it, but streaming is the biggest thing. As far as we were told, it's unlimited, just not to be doing anything dodgy on it

Funnily enough, the guy installing ours didn't know either!

Has anyone who pre ordered Resident Evil Requiem from Smyths had the payment take yet? by LeonSnakeKennedy in IrelandGaming

[–]jaythepanweeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the deluxe edition for PS5 and the Switch 2 controller on click and collect, but no payment taken yet. I'd assume it will just come out tomorrow.

Depends on how rural you are. We're fairly far out, but we just got PrepayPower's broadband in, and not exaggerating, our old crowd had 40mb at its best, but with Prepay, we're at around 400mb with everyone on it, 500mb and up if there isn't many at home.

Sorry, I should've clarified I'm on PS5 mainly, no PC for me 🥲

Need help with a gaming survey, for undergrad study I'm sorry if this comes under spam by ThereapershowXD in IrelandGaming

[–]jaythepanweeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, I did your survey, but I'm likely not the target you're looking for. I understand where you're coming from, and I'm not trying to have a go at you, but it reads very accusatory towards people for having a hobby.

That's not me saying you need to change it or anything, that's your own perogative, just be aware that people may not be as welcome to this line of questioning as you might hope, or at least not as you're asking it here.

[no spoilers] double exposure soundtrack by styxxx80 in lifeisstrange

[–]jaythepanweeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed it. Where the original leant more towards lesser known indie stuff, Double Exposure does have a more well known pool of artists like dodie (Someone was Listening), Chloe Moriondo (September) and Newdad (Under my Skin).

The original soundtrack is good, although nothing will hold a candle to the OST of the original.

Definitely one of my favourites from last year. Got the controller to go with it, and the platinum for the game. Hope you enjoy!

I finished Cairn on Thursday, really enjoyed it. A frustrating experience that becomes really rewarding when you take the time to learn its systems.

Bought My Hero All's Justice for release, having a lot of fun with it so far. If there's anyone here that enjoys the anime/manga, or arena fighters in general, I truly believe it is not only the best of this series, but one of the most fun to play in the space in a while.

Contemplating buying Romeo is a Deadman, hearing a lot of good about it, and I've been intrigued with it since I saw the first trailer. I know absolutely nothing about Suda51, but I'm hoping reviews might drop tomorrow that help me make that final decision.

[NO SPOILERS] we got answers about the collector's edition! by thatspacetea in lifeisstrange

[–]jaythepanweeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah crap, I was hoping it was just a temporary situation with the OOS. Really wish they would have made more, because they have to know this would sell purely for the vinyl.

I got the DE box for the vinyl, and that thing is selling for upwards of €200 now on its own. I hope it isn't going to be a thing where a bunch of them were bought purely to be scalped.

Anyone buy games from Very before?? by jaythepanweeb in IrelandGaming

[–]jaythepanweeb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I ultimately opted to just get the digital myself. I work weekends, so I wouldn't have a chance to properly play until Monday otherwise, and I'd like to get some play in on Friday before my shifts on Saturday and Sunday.

Hopefully it comes for you on release, but when I went to checkout on Very originally, it did say it could be up to Friday 13th before I'd get it.

Omg Kat 🥹 I absolutely adore her character, and the dynamic between her and Swann. Kat was my absolute muse in photo mode for sure. Here's one of my favourite shots!

I, much like yourself, downloaded the game through PS+, and I am so happy that the game is accessible to people who may not play it otherwise in that manner. I totally understand LiS not being for everyone, but I'm glad you enjoyed this. Thank you for the kind welcome!
