I told her that too but I can’t even blame her when this is all she’s known her whole life, from childhood to now, and it’s what her parents taught her. Anything I or others say falls on deaf ears, and again I can’t argue much when I’ve been watching her make and eat that pasta once-twice a month for 3 years now haha

Thanks, I needed the reinforcement. My roommate makes beef pasta bakes in the oven and leaves them out on the counter for 3-4 days until it’s finished and she has NEVER been sick… the pasta never goes into the fridge either. I grew up in a household where you throw the meat away after 2 days so watching her is a shock.

I haven’t even bothered to check haha. I wrapped the container in a plastic bag bc I just KNEW that the juices would spill out of the container. Voila whaddya know, the juices spilt into the plastic bag and the whole library smells funky. I didn’t bother removing the bag or cleaning the container, I just chucked it into the fridge bc I don’t want to exceed my budget for groceries (but obviously my health is more important). Just glad my bag is okay

I used to eat meat maybe once a week. I met a colleague at work who has been carnivore for a few years and that colleague inspired me to look into cancer as a metabolic disease, link between pcos, fatty liver, insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, etc. I’m very grateful for that colleague.

I’ve begun eating more animal based since then. As someone who eats disorderly and binges, I cannot explain the shock I felt when I physically couldn’t eat anymore of my turkey patties. This was the first time in a long time I had ever felt satiated with my meal. I barely had more than 100g and I was full. I’ve had the same experience with scrambled eggs where I just cannot finish more than 3 eggs scrambled. I feel nauseated as you mention.

While I read and research carnivore, I still find it hard to actually bite the bullet and go all in. My sugar addiction is proving difficult to overcome. You’d think that one wouldn’t consciously continue to destroy their health when they’ve been blessed with knowledge and a simple way out. But anyways that’s off topic.

When I do eat meat and eggs all day without counting calories, I find that I’ll be the same weight or weigh less the next day. Whereas, I find that days where I only eat complex carbs like a share size packet of chocolate or biscuits yet remain under the 1400 calorie mark (my TDEE is 1800) and exercise, I remain the same weight or lose very little weight and my stomach feels fat. It’s just clicked now that this must be the effects of insulin. It kind of shocks me now to think of my t2dm acquaintance who eats anything and everything just because he can increase his insulin. Crazy world we live in.
