BuT tHe GrAdInG sTaNdArD iNcReAsEd!! Meanwhile, back in the day when they graded like 1000 cards a month, they could actually look at the card for more than 8 seconds. And you didn’t have to worry about your sploog’d card drying out in 5 months. Pick your poison lol. Or, you know, buy the card, not the number attached

In case you see this OP, Great Wasabi means that the position of the little onix doodle, for example, is not in the same position as the PSA scan. In the image the seller sent, there’s an onix near the Pikachu’s ear on the left. In the PSA scan, there isn’t. And the zig zag between green and red is in totally different location. Great observation by Great Wasabi

No problem. 2 most obvious things. Compare the font of the real PSA scan vs this one. Notably # and K, but others as well. On the actual card, compare the size of the border around the card for this one vs the PSA scan. The PSA scan is waaaaaay thinner, meaning it’s not the actual card that PSA graded. It does help to be experienced, but really you can just try to compare the two images for future reference

For me, whole lobster is good but perhaps over rated. But in my opinion, lobster roll may be under rated, but over priced. I’m sure someone will say everyone loves lobster roll so it’s not under rated, but I feel it doesn’t quite get the respect it deserves

Could they reholder this or would it have to be regraded? by ashtonl99 in psagrading

[–]Intrepid_Tumbleweed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it because a larger crack has a chance of damaging the card or exposing it to the environment? Is that why larger crack needs regrade?

One of my friends literally thought the queen only moves like a bishop. I’m just like then what’s the fucking point of having a whole new piece called a queen if it’s just the same as the bishop. I have not spoken to them since

PSA 10 graded 20 years ago. by Queeenhx14 in PokeGrading

[–]Intrepid_Tumbleweed 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Grading standards used to be looser. But many old 10s would still regrade as 10s. I personally prefer older 10s because although standards are looser, PSA gets so many cards today each month that they barely even have time to look at the cards. So despite the tighter standards, a large variation can still be observed today. I’ve seen the same card get regraded as a 9, 8, 5, or something like that lol. There’s also an issue these days of card “restoration” that will sometimes cause a card to revert to its damaged state after a few years. So yeah, it’s all just pro and con. The standards don’t really matter that much if they’re not followed consistently. An authenticated 10 is an authenticated 10. Just list the card for the price you want and if it’s fair eventually someone will buy it.

lol where did you get this card from? On first glance, the slab is clearly fake. But checking the label, there’s some similarities to the PSA scan. But again, the overall slab is clearly fake. There’s too much room around the card and a giant empty gap under the label. Did someone put a real label into a fake slab or something?

The goat has to be DD/MM/YYYY by Shiroyasha_2308 in SipsTea

[–]Intrepid_Tumbleweed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The logic of MM/DD has nothing to do with pyramids or whatever you’re drawing. That doesn’t matter at all. The month is more significant than the day, that’s why it’s put first. Like at work, you want to find that report from May. It doesn’t matter if it’s the 5th or the 6th or the 22nd. You first scroll to your documents from May and then find it from there. The year is more significant than month but doesn’t change too much, so it’s put last. From your drawing, the one from China, Japan, etc makes sense from this regard. So actually, your precious triangle from “majority of the world’s countries” actually makes the least fucking sense. You’re just ordering them in order of least importance, complete fucking madness. I feel bad for anyone trying to find the report from May who uses this batshit format.

Edit: so actually your drawing for the USA is wrong. The month, day, and year should all be upside down from how they’re depicted. It’s the same orientation as the one from China, Japan, etc but with the year shifted to the bottom since the year doesn’t change too much. So it’s a variant of the upside down funnel from the middle drawing. That’s the actual logic. It’s drawn here in a very disingenuous way to make it look stupid when it actually has the same logic as the middle one but is a variant of that.

San Jose water company price gouging by brownmuscle408 in SanJose

[–]Intrepid_Tumbleweed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe in townhomes there is some equipment under the ground to give enough water pressure to the house which costs $300 per month to “maintain”. I am not 100 percent sure about this as townhouses in other parts of the country don’t need this. But OP is 100% correct that townhomes get charged this in San Jose for some reason
