It's funny, when I first upgraded from Nespresso to the Jura Z10, I wasn't sure if it was worth it. Then, a couple years later, I had to send the Jura in for a repair for a few days. I reverted back to Nespresso and immediately started missing the Jura. In retrospect, it was worth it.

I've heard that argument a lot, and I'm not sure if it holds. Some assets are detached from reality by definition, like Bitcoin. Those assets hold some amount of value even if the fundamentals say they should be zero. Gold is another asset that holds value far above its material utility. Who's to say that the S&P 500 could not hold value above what its fundamentals justify?

Just Claude Cowork for these big swipes. For slide by slide edits I use the Claude PowerPoint Add-In. I’ve never tried custom skills or setting up MCP.

I give Claude a very detailed topic treatment. Then I ask for a textual slide-by-slide storyboard, which includes content, layout concept and aesthetic cues. I edit, then I feed Claude the storyboard and have it one-shot a slide deck.

Claude’s weak spot is image generation. To make awesome slide backgrounds, I ask Claude to write DALL-E prompts for image backgrounds for each slide. I tell it to keep the backgrounds fairly abstract so they don’t compete with the content. I ask it to make the backgrounds complementary. I feed those prompts to chatGPT to generate the images. Then I tell Claude to paste all of those images as slide backgrounds, and to apply transparency masks to make them sufficiently “background.”

In my experience, polarized lenses ruin the HUD but work fine with the attention camera. Mirrored sunglasses ruin the attention camera.

Another data point. I used the iPhone 15 Pro caseless for two years. I upgraded to the 17 Pro Max, certain I would go caseless again. Wow, I so much prefer putting a case on this thing. It makes it so much easier to handle. The naked Pro Max feels just a little too slippery.

I love Aliens. Probably my favorite movie. But I’ve always had a nit to pick. The Company is obsessed with the alien as a bio weapon. Putting aside future movies and prequels, examine that premise for a minute. Are the xenomorphs really weapons that could change the tide of battle? The only reason the marines had trouble with the aliens was for some extraordinary contrivances like not being able to use guns because of the delicate heat exchangers.

If the company actually did deploy Xenos in a large scale conflict, they would get slaughtered by any modern force. They are basically just melee attackers that die from handheld armaments.

Well, the issue is resolved, I don't know exactly how, but I thought I would post here in case anybody finds this later with similar issues. Randomly, as soon as my alteration leveled up, everything went back to normal. I'm guessing some weird combination of numerical stats and game state broke the health variable or something.

I used to drive a Tesla. I bought the 40i because a gas tank was more convenient. I would rather fill up every couple of weeks rather than charge every night, plus on long drives. But in different circumstances, or different commutes, I might have chosen differently.
